Maybe I'm missing something, but I began typing out a post, then decided I didn't want to post it, but, for the life of me, I couldn't see anyway to simply cancel it.
Is there a way to cancel a post?

Type something else in there and post it.
Or just replace it all with a single character, like "."

I agree, it is weird. I noticed it a while ago, but just learned to ignore it.

According to everskyward, click on the save button then click delete. Really weird.

OK, got it, thank you! It's the little disk icon that says 'Drafts' when you hover over it. Then gives you the choice to 'Delete Draft'.

Still a pain in the ass. If you exit the post, it should disappear unless you mark it to save.

Or, like just about any other app out there, if you choose to exit without posting or saving it, it should warn you that the post will be discarded, unless you choose to now post or save it. Also, like most apps, there should be a 'Cancel' button.

Is it really a pain though? It takes a matter of 2 seconds to highlight the written text and click backspace. BINGO! Problem solved!

Yeah, but then you have to click on "post reply". You get an error message and it's gone. Sometimes. Sometimes it's not. It is indeed weird.

Can the moderators read all the stuff we type but never post? If so, they must get a kick out of the things our personal filters keep us from saying. I also wish I could "like" my own posts.

Hmm, I guess I haven’t ran into this issue. Seems extremely trivial to me, but I dunno.

Doesn't work.

I believe they're talking about the saved draft. Shows up as light gray text if you got out of the thread and didn't submit the post.
That’s what I thought they were talking about which is why I suggested to simply highlight the gray text and click the backspace button and bingo it’ll be gone, but others are saying that doesn’t work.

Works for me...:dunno:

The Draft is automatically saved by the software after a few seconds (a grayed out box pops up in the lowers RH corner of the text box).

It's my experience that if you delete your message before this message pops up then it's gone. If you don't, you can delete it, leave the page, come back, and it's there again.

I wasn't aware of the disc icon's purpose. That's likely the better solution.

Lemme know when I can cancel someone else’s post.

There’s a reason those “... for Dummies” books sell so well.
