Finally earned my minimums for PPL

Got Bravo clearance for the first time, 11 touch n gos (edit: stop n gos), then back to CLL for a total of 3.1 night training hours.

I have everything I need hours-wise now. Will schedule a check ride on Monday.

I started last July and it has taken me 3 months longer than I had hoped due to life. It has been a TON of fun though.

If you did 11 touch and goes then you didn’t meet the requirement.

(2) Except as provided in §61.110 of this part, 3 hours of night flight training in a single-engine airplane that includes—

(i) One cross-country flight of over 100 nautical miles total distance; and

(ii) 10 takeoffs and 10 landings to a full stop (with each landing involving a flight in the traffic pattern) at an airport.
 
I’m sure he ‘meant to say’ full stops.....

Hopefully he uses pencil in his logbook ...
 
I’m sure he has more night landings than just one flight.

Reading his post, he did the time/distance/landings in one session. But I'm sure they were all full stop (even if they weren't). I suspect it was done dual, so the CFI would have assured that, and the excited OP mis-typed.

Most likely but why take the fun out of the thread with logic and sense?

Congratulations and good luck on your check ride. My 20 year old son just completed his PPL instruction part and is now trying to get a check ride scheduled around his college schedule.

Good luck on the checkride! Keep calm, confident but not cocky and proudly show them what you have learned and mastered...and if you pass dont quit taking lessons, no not weekly but some time with a cfi here and there is good for any of us... bad habits creep in, theres more advanced thing we could learn, things that we can do but could do better with some coaching... im close to an endorsement but intend after it to grab a lesson here and there. Our two local guys are fun to fly with so for two twenties and a crappy cheesburger at an airstrip diner near by I intend to happen a few times a year after this...

Aside for the technical discussion on touc n gos

My most humble opininion, I have told all my instructors ill pay for the extra time for a stop and back taxi and go again. A touch and go is a poor time for learning take offs and landings, too much too quick to soak it in and learn it, even when done well, at least for me. I dont like em, never have, wont do em to save a few mins during a lesson. Back taxi time is good time for self critique and compliment and retweaking your plan on how to do it better next time... cant do that while jamming carb heat, nailing throttle, lifting flaps and off you go again...

I did 10 night touch and goes, I mean stop and goes during my training. My instructor just logged them as “landings”. I didn’t realize I actually stopped every time until after I passed my checkride.
 
Salty, It's time to add Texas to your PIC map!
One day soon. Used up all my vacation last year on the engine overhaul. Hopefully will have time for more long flights this year.

You'll do great Mark. Have to hand it to you "eastern" guys ... my night flights (except for mountains) are way easier - no trees. Nice big roads for emergencies, and most of our roads the electrical and power lines are buried. Also don't have to worry flying into a cloud at night in my areao_O

yeah on my first 1-2 landing lessons (day) it sure would have been nice to collect myself with a taxi back each time. I really felt overwhelmed with the whole ordeal. Now its second nature.
