how much cash do you have that you could spend immediately ?

Not carried on person, maybe in the safe, or hidden.

More than Starbucks will let me spend in one go, and not nearly enough to keep the Aztec full of fuel on a long weekend. :D

You could spend immediately? Like not for a disaster or emergency, but truly disposable? If that’s the case, the answer is none. I’m married with child, so I have no idea of what this “cash” is that you speak of.

I’m not following just how disposable you’re asking for. If it needs to be in a home safe or buried in the back yard then well I guess I don’t have just a whole lot. I tend to keep most of my funds in the bank. I guess that prevents it from being “spent immediately”???

How much money are you able to spend one one time good deal right now? If it were a thousand bucks could you do it?

I have 6 figures in cash saved (like right at 6 figures) for a lay-off type situation. I was laid off in 2008.

I could probably use $30k for a once in a lifetime deal.

Problem is, I don’t believe in once in a lifetime deals. There is always some information I don’t have (imperfect knowledge).

Anything too good to be true, is.

But I am also not Alpha like you and have never owned a plane and seek my wife’s buyin on big purchases. Sounds like I’m an outlier here.

ETA: $1,000 I could do.

I’m more likely to get a water heater or ejector pump before I spent it on a toy type item.

Edit: misunderstood. $1K on-hand at the house. Have to go to the bank to get anything above that.

Cash on hand.... it is like this, I have $1,000.00 and my wife has $25.00.. the real question is how much cash on hand does my wife have?

Not enough, could always use more.. Wife has all the cash..

Who uses or carries cash anymore?

It’s rare that I have $50 in cash at anytime.

Cash in the house? About 5K, six figures in the bank. But as was asked above, how much does wife have squirled away? Something to ponder.

my two thoughts:

1) why in the world would anyone ask that question on the internet? (oh, ok, it's Tom-D, I get it now)

2) why in the world would anyone answer that question on the internet? (ok fine, I'll answer.......nunya)

I keep $1000 around the house, for spur of the moment gun deals...my wallet typically has less than $100

I rarely keep much more than a hundred bucks in my wallet, and nothing more in the house except a few bucks worth of loose change in a small jar.

Not on the wife's buy-in thing. We're approaching 40 years married, and being on the same page about money is important.

I'm going to go with $1025, plus whatever else she wants. :)

Uh-huh. If I did have more cash than what's in my wallet (which varies from "zip" to "a little bit"), I certainly wouldn't discuss it with anyone other than my wife. Not even my adult kids need to know if or how much we may or may not have on hand.

an ATM will only print $300 at a time....and there are limits per day.

I just about posted the same thing...

Yes, let’s all reveal how much moola we have on hand to the world. Very intelligent!

Enough to buy back in at the poker table when dumfook sucks out on a 1% draw.

And if that doesn't work out, I keep enough for a bottle of Ripple.

There are ones with higher limits. If you have more than one Bank Account and a card for each you can get a bunch of money in a few minutes.
You can usually just call the customer service number on any bank card and have the daily limit increased (either temporarily or permanently) to whatever amount you want.

Geez, you guys that are afraid to answer: you could always lie, say you are completely broke and don't have so much as a dollar...then go on social media, and mark yourself :safe from robbers:. lol
