Lying on medical

On this topic of lying on a medical. I know a woman taking Wellbutrin for smoking cessation. The prescription is in her name, but she pays cash and there is no doctor’s office paper trail.

Would the FAA have access to a record of her prescription?

IOW, how deep does the government's vision go? I'm not sure I want to know. Certainly, the prescription is in a computer record ... at that point, who knows?

My understanding is yes... when you sign your medical application, you authorize the FAA pulling any script info under your name in the US pharmacy system.

However, the FAA doesn’t typically do that, unless investigating an incident. If they find you lied, they hang you then, not a priori.
