We had a family event cancel for tomorrow so I think I'll go fly. Heard good things about the on field cafe at Dexter Mo. (KDXE). Think I'll hit it up tomorrow and will let you know what I find

If anyone is interested in meeting up for lunch, fly on over. I should get there about 10:30. Red and White Cherokee N4320J

1030 is a very early lunch! Used to be part of a breakfast group, our goal was engine start at 0900. Sometimes we would overlap your projected lunchtime.

Well, 1030 is a late breakfast so I’ll call it brunch lol. It’s all moot anyway. My plans are CNX. Dad fell last night and we are going to visit him today. Flying will have to wait.

Not to be pedantic, just curious, but I thought the term Mizzou just just a nickname for the university and not the entire state.

And... I was just curious if mizzou was also a nickname for the entire state and not just the university since that is how you appear to have used it. Just honest curiosity.
IDK either. You're probably right though.

I live just across the border in Arkansas. Never used the term Mizzou to refer to anything other than the school. May vary depending on location.

And you'd be right.

I am hoping to get over there Saturday morning by 0930. Weather looks perfect!

Hmmm...I may have to make it. It's a good "diner". Don't expect too much!

Has quite a bit of local support and that is key for an airport restaurant. Sandy's at Cape Girardeau is similar. Lots of drive up customers.

Copy that. I like the Cape. Next on my list has been Dexter and Sikeston for Lamberts.

I found Dexter to be a busy place Saturday morning. There were probably a dozen planes there and a ton of personal vehicles. The diner was packed with large groups. Note for anyone maybe wanting to do a large get together there. They have a room off the side that had a huge table that would seat around 30. I'll go back for sure

The cafe there is actually pretty amazing! Best burger I've had in a long while anyhow. I loved the pie and we bought a couple of T-shirts while we were there as well. Amazing how busy the cafe stays, and it's typically from people in town bringing their family...although there were quite a few pilots there as well when we were.
