When there is a certain antique aircraft that you would like to scale down, then build as a E/AB
How /where can you get blueprints to do this? Any companies out in internet land that do this?
 
For some aircraft for which nobody holds the type certificate any more, you can get drawings from the Smithsonian if they have them. But building a scaled down replica isn't just a matter of scaling it down, it's a totally new aircraft which requires a full design analysis (not legally required for E-AB but it's a really good idea).

I have a friend building an 85% scale Focke-Wulf Fw 190 from plans he bought somewhere on the internet (in German with some parts translated to French and English). It will be powered by a P&W R985. Tubular frame, all torch welded with wooden spars (about 80% complete). He also purchased an already built 50% scale Fw 190 that should be flying in the next few months (needed some work). The little one has an O200 on the nose with a custom built 3 blade FP prop. Both will have retractable main landing gear with the larger one also having retractable tail wheel, similar to the original.

Long term plans are to provide an updated kit for the larger model that would use a more common, less expensive engine than the 985.

No drawings but found another article on same M.5 above. Appears Petroelje made his own drawings from a list of dimensions and photos:

“No original drawings of the Macchi existed, so Petroelje had to create his own designs from a set of dimensions and from photographs. "I just went more by the dimensions," Petroelje said of the plans, which he secured years ago for $40 from "WWI Aero" magazine.”

I'm working with a customer who is an ace with a cad program, we will see where this goes.
