The original "I don't know it all" of aviation.
FOI Written..... Done!!! 50 questions done in 13 minutes.

Study method for those interested: Primarily Sheppard Air. But also the ground school taught by Paul Sergeant (a local CFI) helped by providing appropriate focus depth the the material.

One thought I have about this material is that the FAA committed a sin by "over explaining" the material (gee, isn't that one of the topics?). The "cliff notes" version provided by Paul and inferred by the rote memorization of Sheppard Air got the job done much simpler than trying to grokk the text of the AIH.

I’m using Sheppard Air for the FOI right now too.
 
Only a 96%? That means you understudied by 4%!

If you can devote this Saturday and Sunday into some undisturbed study sessions (aka 6-8 hours for each day), you'll be ready for the exam. I did that. Then, with the exam scheduled at 1:00pm, used this morning as a review session going through all of the questions again. Marked the ones I either got wrong on the initial pass, or wanted to spend another 60-120 seconds on. Then studied the 30 questions I marked until I was comfortable I would get those correct.

Do something like that and you can schedule the written exam next week.

I could have already taken it but I’ve got my multi comm the 15th-19th so I’ve been studying for that. It was my intention to get the FOI done before then and I certainly could, but I decided to take it a bit easy and focus on the multi for now.
 
Ah, the joy of being college faculty. Don't need no stinkin' FOI.
 
Really? You are all actin' like, its the Space Shuttle Type rating written or something. Half of it is common sense. Just took the King sample tests and got a 80.... Never seen the material before.

Congrats. Currently studying for mine as well. I could probably take it this weekend and pass but there is a pretty heavy snowfall forecast so I'll just wait till next weekend.
