A lot older than your highest option....

Me, too. I was 43, which may seem old to you, but sounds Very Young to me.

Thanks for the reply guys , I added some more age options ..Still trying to get the hang of this.

42

Always loved flying but understood the demands and commitment required to stay safe and alive. Thus, I waited until the kid was gone and career was on cruise control, relatively speaking, no more 80 hour weeks anyway.

Not something to be taken lightly. Those who do tend to die. It's not like having a bass boat. You don't just put in in the shed until next year if you don't have time for it.

Welcome. Started at 26, got my PPC at 28. Life got in the way, you know, babies, priorities.

I got mine at 19. Right at the end of my first semester of college. Which was like, forever ago.

The day before my 30th birthday.
(Best present ever!)

Soloed at 16 and got my certificate at 17. I’ve been a chick magnet ever since.

40-50 range for me. 'Cuz aviation ain't cheap.

AZ is a pretty decent place for flying. Seems like there's an active pilots group there with a schedule of fly-ins. And weather mostly cooperates. Good luck with the training!

I’m from Arizona too.

Started in my 20s... finished in my 50s!
I started in my late teens (grew up near an airport, dad worked in aerospace), had a GF that wouldn't fly (in any plane of any size), so I stopped. Turned 40, bashed it out. Now have had another lapse (sold plane to buy my house) so I'm going at it for the third time, to finish instrument.

That’s awesome, what part?

I'm in North Scottsdale...Greyhawk area. Got my PPL out of KSDL. Have a Cherokee 140 with my dad hangared at KDVT. Got my Instrument in that and getting my Commercial right now at Westwind at KDVT.

I’ve been a chick magnet ever since.

Me too! Unfortunately, I seem to have the same pole as the ladies. :(

With the amount of people coming here from other states I don’t blame you!
I actually left before Phoenix became popular. I would have been happy to stay, but I ended up pursuing a career at sea (merchant marine then Navy) which was kind of hard to do staying in AZ.

I really do wish I could move back, but have yet to convince my wife that it’s a good idea. Having grown up in Tennessee, she’s not so crazy about living out west.

But flying in the Southwest has always been my favorite place to fly.
