The headphone/mic jacks are mounted such that they protrude at a right angle from the side of the cabin side. I am looking for something like this;
51nE+HWaCDL__SX679_.jpg But in a size that would work for both the headphone and mic jack diameter. This would make things more comfortable for the rear seat passengers. I am not familiar with the specialty electronic suppliers and would appreciate your help.

Like this one for the mike?

And this one for the stereo plug.

Funny, it was harder to find the 90deg PJ-068 than the PJ-055. Everyone could use the dash 55's but who but the aviation community would use the dumb sized dash 68's? Oh yeah, hold over from the signal corps olde fashioned polarized systems with artificial floating grounds. Ha! Why use such antiquated types of....uh, never mind.

Either way, you'll need some soldering skillz. Don't forget the to wet the sponge!

I would check eBay, then Newark, Mouser, and DigiKey. Failing at those places I would try to find someone who dealt in 2-way radio equipment, maybe an EF Johnson or a Motorola dealer.

How about rotating jack assembly 90 degrees?

Plus jacks in from bottom as opposed to plugging into the front. Maybe?

I took a standard 1/4" jack and added a sleeve to fit the 0.206" plugs. Did it for a bench test only; not sure how well it'd work over the long term.

I should have taken pictures. It is just a flat plate screwed to the interior panel with the jack mounted through the panel. It is not a big deal, just that I can see the Wife's point. I'll get the Avionics shop to change the mount the next time I go in.
Never hurts to ask.
