Windows 10 October Update is out!

So far it messed up the graphics settings on my desktop some. Not sure what else yet.
Every time one of those updates happens, I end up going through all the settings. Sometimes it changes settings and adds new ways to intrusively collect data from your computer.

On one machine it turned off the wallpaper.
On another, it jams the download at 91%, repeatedly.

Why do we put up with this trash? Let’s all throw away our Windows machines and go MAC...

pretty big deal, will interact with android (7 & up) phones & run the apps

Why go Mac when I could use my current hardware and put Mojave or whatever it is called on it and called it a hackintosh?

I long ago (after the first time 10 bricked my machine) turned off all updates including the hidden ones (boy, does Billy whine at me)

My wife asked me to go help her Aunt install a wireless printer. I rebooted her laptop during the process. It started installing updates - it had 189 updates to install. I took the laptop and the printer home and it took over 5 hours to get through all the updates.

If you're using Win10, you can avoid most update-related headaches by using Win10 Professional, setting the update path to "Current Branch for Business," and deferring "feature updates" for 365 days.

You should also set Windows Update to notify you of updates and let you choose when to install them. That gives you a chance to refresh your backups before installing an update.

One of my laptops did the upgrade earlier this week. No problems at all. Now, what did MS do to Office 365? The icons and everything in Outlook have completely changed appearance, and that is NOT on a machine that has updated Windows 10.
