An is this flight wise forum?

Maybe as a sub-section to flight following or something. I often find myself looking at a weather or other flight situation and wanting second opinions to check my own judgement. I see a fair number of others doing similar, it just occurred to me that might be a useful thing especially for new pilots to get help and experienced folks to play with flight plans.

I like that idea. Those are some of the most valuable threads on PoA IMO, and it'd be great to have one place to put them (and find them later).

I sort of see these threads as falling under either Lessons Learned or pilot training, not sure it needs a dedicated forum. Maybe other mods disagree with me though.

Agree. If it's a specific destination, Cool Places to Fly can also apply.

Try a thread or two in an existing forum and see how well it works. But personally,

1. I’m not going to trust SGOTI, who has zero first hand knowledge of me, the plane, or the situation, to give me go/no-go advice.

2. I don’t want to give someone go/no-go advice that might result in him being part of a bloody wad of aluminum.

Discuss hypotheticals? Sure. Discuss situations afterward? Sure. Real-time go/no-go advice? Not me.

I would interested not from a go/no go perspective but from a weather, performance and/or routing perspective.
E.g. I may need weather and routing help out Salt Lake City headed toward Denver....

If you can post on POA you already have access to all the information you need. Why ask for it here? Besides that you are more like to start a conversation about bbq and slaw than get any meaningful information
