My architect (also a pilot) flew down his photographer in the company Baron (oddly when I hired the guy he only had a Bonanza... hmm.). Here's the money shot, our house, the runway, the lake...

Nice!!! But am I missing the hangar at the house?

I know where we’re having the next POA fly-in!

Beautiful pad, Ron!

The hangar faces the taxiway, our living room, my music room (grand piano), and the party deck face the runway. Here's a shot of just the house.
We chose that lot so the hangar would not obstruct our views. Note, my wife has been designing this house since she found out I was a pilot.

While it's not a POA event, our airport is having its annual fly-in on September 29 (last Saturday of the month). Drop on in. Free tours of the house :)
Probably too far, but what’s the indentifier?

Beautiful home and location!!

Nice digs!
So, um, what's the status of the Navion that's supposed to go in the hangar?
Is it back in the air, and I missed that announcement?

Navion is getting close. Alas the expert in these things had a stroke earlier in the year which delayed things. I also got into some "might as well" improvements such as new paint and an MVP50 engine display. I'm expecting it any day now (in fact, I'm going out there to beat on things as soon as I get out a few more things done on the house).

Damn. That's...that's my ideal right there. Wish I had the millions to pull that off. Next you're gonna say there's a dock for the boat I don't see...

Nice setup! Much respect.

Good luck on getting the Navion going. Always liked the looks of those birds.

Sweet abode! Beautiful aerial pic. Envious.

I used the same architect for Anymouse Manor. Although he did a great job on mine, I gotta admit that Ron's house looks a lot more impressive.

WOW - very nice place!!!

Wow.

Y’know, some days I get very tired of being poor.

Beautiful place, Ron. Don’t forget about your fellow aviators living in poverty. Maybe drop a few coins into our tin cups when you see us on the street.

Looking forward to seeing some interior photos!

I lived in an upstairs room of a hanger when I lived in Tok, Ak.

The beacon was 20 feet away from the window. As the sun set, the beacon would come on and I would have a weird disco look in my room.

Personally I don’t like it one bit. Every time I depart Rwy 32 at 14A, that hideous air park catches my eye and I can’t avoid seeing it. Hideous, I say!

Yeah, I’m a jealous, bitter man.

:D

Gotta admit. I don't have a lake in my back yard. :sigh:

You have a paved runway and two instrument approaches. Can’t have everything, where would you put it all.

Those shots of Ron’s place sure look spiffy.

Lake Norman (North Carolina)

Here's a shot of the boat by the way (Taken by friend Robert Miracle):

That thing looks like it needs a lot of varnishing to keep up. Sort of the Commodore's equivalent of a polished aluminum plane. :D

That looks very similar to the senators boat in the new season of Ozark on Netflix. What model is that? How fast does it get up to?

Isn’t that the largest man made body of water in the world?

Lake Kariba between Zambia and Zimbabwe is the largest in the world.

Lake Mead (Hoover Dam) In the U.S.

Yes, I Googled. :)
