I had a strange day in the Cub.
Obviously fooling around while taxiing, then had carb ice at least twice. I had to put the carb heat on every 15 minutes to keep from freezing up.
And the visibility: It didn't matter what direction you turned, forward visibility was bad, but down and to the sides it was 5+ miles. Totally still air and no bumps at all

I've gone -1.0 for a few seconds, no problem. Its a Zenith carb, and I use an electric boost pump. But, VWs motors are known to not windmill if the engine quits inflight. So, I'm being very cautious as I experiment with anything more than rolls.
I've got a few hours of aerobatic instruction. But, that was all in fuel injected, constant speed prop stuff.

Took these two on my flight today! Went to KOQU( Quonset Rhode Island) and much to my surprise when I landed I saw what looked like Air Force 1! I asked the tower if it was( sort of knew it was not) and they confirmed it was not. Are there a few versions of Air Force 1’s?

Yes I realized that after a bit more research on my part. It looks like it could be a great experience to fly in to see for people around the area. Quonset is a great airport with possibly the most scenic approach to all runways( it’s built right on the water with bridges and boats and lots of other things!) in the Northeast and very friendly ATC!

Ahh ole OQA! We reopened that tower in Jan '82 during the air traffic controllers strike after Reagan fired 11,000 plus FAA controllers. I think we (my USAF unit) operated the tower for 2 1/2 year or so.

Making landfall crossing from Victoria Island back into the US this past Sunday.
Saw a bird show while on Victoria Island. This owl really didn’t want to participate in the flying much. She flew in and landed right in front of us and was very unwilling to leave. Seemed to want to just hang out and watch the show. Pretty neat.
This was pretty cool also. Got to fly a Harris Hawk.
