Southeast Lunch (and beer) Fans

don't TFR's usually kick in an hour or so before game time? that just helps us decide what time to be there. so, see you there at 5pm. I know, that only leaves us 6 hours of drinkin time.

TFR's start a few hours before the game - flying in that morning should be no big deal. Or, fly to KCAE 5 miles away.

"Pursuant to 14 CFR section 99.7, special security instructions, commencing one hour before the scheduled time of the event until one hour after the end of the event. All aircraft operations; including parachute jumping, unmanned aircraft and remote controlled aircraft, are prohibited within a 3NMR up to and including 3000ft AGL of any stadium having a seating capacity of 30,000 or more people where either a regular or post season Major League Baseball, National Football League, or NCAA division one football game is occurring. This NOTAM also applies to Nascar Sprint Cup, Indy Car, and Champ Series races excluding qualifying and pre-race events."

EAA 242 (at CUB) has their monthly breakfast on Saturday, September 15th. Sounds like you guys may be planning to come in later and spending the night.

Put me down as a maybe. I may be doing the Mercedes Benz 5K in Atlanta that morning. The 5K ends inside the stadium. I missed the inaugural run for that event last year visiting one of the kids. I did the inaugural 5K run at SunTrust Park last year, and the last one at the Dome. Plus I'll be going to CUB a couple of times right after that. Once to pick up the kid at SC to fly to the SC-UK game and then drop her off afterwards; her sister is at UK. And another time for Parents Weekend at SC.

If I go, it'll just be for the day. Hop over, have lunch with everyone and hop back.

It's a game TFR, talk to ATC and squawk a code. Blah, blah, blah. You should be talking to Columbia Approach there anyway. You can get Columbia Clearance on the ground at CUB, so you can close on the ground or get a code before departure. Only time I've had trouble Columbia Clearance from the ground at CUB is departing after the eclipse when it seemed like everyone with a plane was flying. Columbia Clearance (and pretty the rest of ATC) was swamped.

Clemson has a home game 9/15 and we set up a huge tailgate so I doubt I can make this. Now that I have my ppl I really want to start actively meeting up with you guys. If I am in any decent shape to fly Sunday morning though I might come down for the breakfast club.

Our EAA chapter at KCUB in Columbia is having a pancake breakfast this Saturday, 8/18/18 at 9:00 AM. This is separate from the S.C. Breakfast Club fly-in on 9/16/18, which is a bigger deal (more pilots/planes, larger selection of breakfast items, historic nature, etc.).

Supposed to do a PnP flight on Saturday otherwise I’d join you. sounds like fun

in case anyone wants to get familiar with KCUB ahead of time...…..

This Sunday the Breakfast Club is at KMKS, come on down! SCBC is always a great reason for an early morning cross country.

Wont be able to make it. Closing on a house next Friday that we are going to put some work into... there goes all my weekends in september!

I can't make it. Thought I had a Clemson game and could slide in there Sunday, but I forgot I bought tickets to Music Midtown in Atlanta which is an all weekend music festival and my girlfriend would kill me if I wasn't there.

But next weekend, the 8th, I'm looking to fly somewhere for the day just to take a trip. Could swing by your homefield @eman1200 and check out the bomooney.

can certainly leave it open. I'd say if u came this far we should probably take you to The Pig. let's touch base as the date gets closer.

Two questions - 1. What is the date being discussed? and 2. Can I get on the illustrious SE list?

I haven’t been to Music Midtown in years. Mostly because it’s a shell of its former self from when it was down on the vacant lot on 10th street were the Federal building is now, but probably just as much because I have crept out of their target demographic. :) Have fun!

added you to the list (where are u based out of and have you planted yourself on @AuntPeggy 's member map?)

beers at the brewery on saturday 9/15 followed by a hungover SCBC (south carolina breakfast club) breakfast at the airport on sunday am 9/16.

I still have a plane scheduled but haven’t taken care of a hotel yet. Where’s everyone staying?

Based RYY - but will be in New England that weekend - otherwise I'd be all in...

Oh and I have no idea how to map my member - maybe I'm not "all in"?

Arrive Sat, 9/15? Supper, beer, breakfast on Sunday 9/16? Hmmm . . . .
