New/updates on Diesel engines at OSH

Anyone wandered over to Continental, EPS, or other manufacturers trying to get diesel/Tet-A engines Certified? If so any news?
 
Why does anyone take deltahawk seriously?

I think the ultimate statement is to have a plane fly into OSH powered by your new whiz-bang engine...
 
There was some weird looking piston engine in the Lancair Evolution. I walked past it but I didn't stop and look closely.
 
It will be nice to see delta hawk,get certified. They have been showing their engines for years.
 
Paul B. posts an article about diesels, where he appears to be saying that airframers need an established company behind the diesels. I'm pretty sure it's not what the problem really is. Deltahawk is a perpetual joke, they promised a certification for many years. Fine. But Continental is as established as they come, and yet... Lycoming sells a diesel too, you know:

That engine has since found home in Yak-152. The future of aviation diesels is outside of U.S.
 
I don’t think there are enough sales of new GA planes in the US to fund the r&d of a small Diesel engines, much less multiple competitors in the same market. The cost to replace an existing engine in an older would be astronomical, so owners aren’t going to do that until avgas is totally unavailable.

I think there might be a chance to follow the Rotax model and start in the experimental and UAS markets and work up from there. Maybe Cirrus’s new trainer will be a good platform for a diesel power plant for the overseas market. It hasn’t worked well for either Cessna or Piper, but they don’t innovate well in the low end of their fleets.

Delthawk had a Cirrus at OSH with their engine a few years ago. The plane flew up from Florida but they wouldn't give any numbers for it.
