Favorite quote from the article:
“But the regulations are ‘well you can’t do this, you can’t do that’. They don’t understand it.”

He added: “Now will they crash? Probably, but cars crash every day."

Looks like a great way to get from home to the airport. That's about the only use I can think of for "up to 25 mile range." Cause I can keep a second charger in the hangar, but not in the grass beside the parking lot at work . . . .

While the vehicle will not require a pilot's licence, Opener said as a precaution riders would have to undergo a training programme in order to become acquainted.
Howzat?

The AoA meter on that thing is gonna be ridiculous.
Yeah, it doesn't look very graceful in the air. Although none of these flying "car" things really do. The Terrafugia is quite unattractive. This at least has a certain alien quality to it!

"You know it’s not going to be foolproof..."

Boy theres an understatement! Yeah cars crash every day, but cars don't fall out of the sky and land on things. The fatality rate will far exceed car crashes.

Never happen, ground lovers can't stand anything that makes noise and can fly. Stuff that can't fly can be loud as hell and no one cares.

I'd fly it. If would be cool if they can make a regulation prohibiting crashes to ensure safety though.

Only in terms of fatalities per unit sold. I doubt that more than 10 of these contraptions escape into the wild to have a chance at killing anyone. It's going to be one of those things that costs $250,000 and provides all of the practicality of a dirt bike with none of the safety or convenience.

And it'll likely be broken enough not to get off the ground.

At least it'd be safe that way! :)
I'm not so sure about that. There's a lot of spinning blades on that thing even when it's not fully functional.

I wonder if it will be ADS-B compliant.

Just imagine how loud that thing must be. Imagine a dozen of these things coming to work? Something about that shrill tiny blade drone noise makes it hard to listen to
