I'm looking for a partnership situation with two or three other co-owners.
My home airport is KAPA - Centennial, but for the right situation I might consider Front Range or Rocky Mountain Metro.
Interested in Cessna 182 or 180hp 172. Might also consider low wing aircraft with minimum of 180hp.

I will be looking for a partnership this summer but in a FIKI SR22TN. I'd post on the bulletin boards a KAPA. I see a few offered now and then that don't seem to be posted anywhere else.

If you search on craigslist there is currently a posting looking for a partner in a 182 up at KBJC. I would post the links but I don't have enough posts to put links up yet on the board.

I found the Craigslist post.. not a bad deal per se.. but driving up to Boulder from Aurora every time I want to fly is not very convenient.. for now I will keep looking.

Send the posting to the many aviation groups - WAI, Colorado99s, Colorado Pilots, CABA, at the Pilot Shop, etc.

I'm in what I believe to be the best ownership club in existence! www.tenhiflyers.com but unfortunately for those looking, we are up to 35 applicants waiting to join.

You ever find enough people to fill out a partnership?

For those willing to be based further north, there's a slack group you might be interested to join below. You should be able to add yourself, let me know if you are having trouble.

@cfd408 no idea how I missed this thread the first time around, but howdy. We aren’t actively looking for another co-owner in our 182 right now, but we did talk to someone we knew was interested a while back and shared numbers. He decided his goals were different than he thought at first and didn’t join us, which was fine.

We’re probably a bit overdue for an interior upfit and we’re relatively close to TBO, but likely to go over that as per typical 182 numbers, just going on condition and what not. Those items likely scare off any new to airplane ownership co-owners, if we were actively looking, and we know that, so we’re pretty happy with the status quo right now, but if a new co-owner came in, their capital would likely go straight to continuing upgrades that we’re doing.

There’s a 210 co-ownership at APA that’s been in the Colorado Pilot’s Assn newsletter classifieds for a while now, looking for another person, if you haven’t seen it. I think it’s the same airplane a friend used to be in, and it was a nice aircraft, from what I could tell. That’s really the reason for this post, was to mention that airplane... if you’re unaware of it or not a CPA member.

Thanks for getting back to me. A 210 is definitely a nice bird but more bird than I need. I am a CPA member and know the 210 you are talking about.
Please keep me in mind should you decide to open the books on co-ownership. Or if you just want to talk plane talk.

Looks like an invite is required to join the group

Will do. We have always been open about our co-ownership with folks.

The dynamic changed a little after we had one co-owner depart and then the remaining two of us decided we hate debt so we paid off the airplane note that was mostly in place for cash flow and spousal reasons prior to the change.

What we realized is that now if someone joined they kinda have to have the same “skin in the game”. And not too many folks want to outright buy into an airplane close-ish to TBO that needs some interior work done. That doesn’t bother us at all, but we get that it wouldn’t be attractive to many. Plus doing anything that would take the airplane out of service near to a new co-owner buying in, wouldn’t be fun for them... shell out $ for a airplane we’re then parking for a while to rip out carpet and interior? Ha. Not cool.

We figure we’ll be doing the interior soonish and that’ll be nice, then the engine whenever it decides it’s done playing, and maybe timing is nicer for a new co-owner then, when things are “a better long term investment” up front for them.

We wouldn’t run anyone off who wanted to talk airplanes and ownership over beers though. Personality is a huge big deal in co-ownerships too, and the “right person” might want to be involved right where we and the airplane are at, but many wouldn’t. It’s hard to structure a deal like a warranty or something... “Hey if you buy in today and the engine makes metal tomorrow, that’s on us since we flew all the time off of it...” but stuff like could be discussed, too.

We did an engine fund and still do one, but we raided that cookie jar a little bit for the avionics and ADS-B so we know we’re on the hook if the airplane needs an engine tomorrow. We agreed to do it.

It’s a “we both hate to have a pile of money sitting in a savings account earning nothing” issue, and we both know we have the assets available to put into the engine if it suddenly needs one.

I also push harder for the engine fund because I know I’m the guy who usually flies it more than my co-owners so it’s only “fair” my bucks pay for more of the engine replacement in my head.

@denverpilot Any chance you could share the 210 listing with me if they are still interested?

I’ve seen it in two places at various times. CPA monthly magazine (not sure if that’s member only? @murphey ?) and the bulletin board (on paper) in the Jet Center East (not the building with Perfect Landing, the Denver Air Connection one) back near the offices and the bathroom.

I may be wrong, but I thought I remembered the CPA Classifieds was open to the public for reading, but members only to post?

I'm in the process of purchasing a "D" model Bonanza and am looking for a partner. Please let me know of your interest.
Thanks. Miles 303-548-4982

Miles,
Thanks for the reply. Possibly depending on cost(s). Not sure I want the additional maintenance and insurance cost associated with complex/high performance. Are you open to a three way partnership? Before we go that far mind if I ask how much the Bonanza you are looking at is selling for?

I will be looking for a partnership this summer but in a FIKI SR22TN. I'd post on the bulletin boards a KAPA. I see a few offered now and then that don't seem to be posted anywhere else.

John, I just missed on an SR22T partnership recently and will probably be interested this summer. FIKA would be fine. Finding a good aircraft is not the problem, the problem is sourcing a hangar anywhere in the Denver area. If you email me your contact info we can chat offline. Gary Vick (Pappa G)

Check Front Range - new hangars are being built (not cheap, tho). There may be some rental hangars - anything and everything is cheaper than Centennial! I was quoted $750/month in a community hangar down there. I'm paying $340/mo for a county hangar with electricity and they plow.

I ended up in a 340 partnership, but will send contact info in case something comes up.

Hangars are almost impossible, and Jefferson county and APA seem resistant to building any new ones, which is a shame.

Jeffco-Er-Metro is cancelling and demanding new leases on their hangars - meetings tonight on that. Changing price increase terms is part of the deal, I’ve heard.

That's great, part of the problem is the leases are so bizarrely cheap no one ever gives up their leases. Our hangar neighbor at APA is a 3D printing business that as far as I can tell has nothing to do with airplanes. Another guy has a bunch of old cars.
