Hello everyone.
I am from the Billings area in Montana and have been flying around here for almost five years in my Cessna 150. Currently wondering where some neat places to fly to are in this area that I could take my 150 to. Thanks!

There is a thread on places to fly with restaurants in ND, MN and SD that has some info. You can also fly to KFAR and say Hi. Nothing to see here though, well apart from me.

There is a discussion going on about going to KRAP once it’s warms up for lunch, join us if u would like. I am going to start a thread on that shortly, currently it’s burried under a diff thread.

I have no personal knowledge to offer but I have always wanted to spend some time flying around out there so I’m a bit jealous. I hope you get some good suggestions so that I can possibly use it in the future. Good luck!

I've done a little flying, camping and fishing in the Missouri Breaks. A 150 should be able to handle most if the strips there.

I have never flown to North Dakota so Fargo would be a good place to fly too.
As for the Rapid City lunch fly in I am definitely interested.

Minot
Dickinson
Rapid city
Duluth- make sure u visit during fall
Apostle islands, WI

And basically everything in between, but these are the ones I am definitely going this summer

There's always the 6Y9 fly-in on Labor Day weekend. A bit far but it's all downhill.

I’m in Montana as well, not sure you are looking for strictly paved or not...I live in the southwest area of MT and have flown around here for lunch and training. There’s a few grass strips that are gems...Russian Flat (M42) in the Little Belts being a good one! Polson’s airport (paved) at night is a fun one. Fly over Flathead Lake and turn the lights on.
Wise River (O2T) doubles as cow pasture but still public, and Wisdom (7S4) in the Big Hole area are a couple cool ones as well, especially if you fish.

And Henry’s Lake (U53) is another good grass strip near West Yellowstone.

I fly out of Ennis (EKS) mostly and enjoy their airport and views of the Madison River valley. Good people at the fbo. More fishing acces as well.

Almost forgot about Driggs, ID (KDIJ) Besides the amazing views of the Tetons there is a great restaurant called Warbirds. They are the home base of the MiG Fury Fighters too.

Your C-150 / 0200 will go almost anywhere in Mt. just watch the heat in the summer.

Take a day (and pack a lunch) then head for 48U. Not many folks have visited an official intergalactic spaceport.

b/w i have landed once in billings, i wasnt PIC, so its in my bucket list of places to land. actually i want to do the exactly this route - KFAR-KBIS-KBIL-KCOE-KPAE

I will have to head up to Polson this summer than. Ennis is a nice airport, when I was in Three Forks I flew down there once, but like flying into Townsend a lot.

That is almost a straight shot south of here. I definitely going to add that to my list.

If you are into sketchy airports there is an old airmail field west and a bit north of Laramie. It's right beside I-80.

I’m headed up to Glendive from OKC this summer.
