If you want the best barbeque you will find at a airport or anywhere else for that matter the PicNPig in Carthage NC is a great place to go. A nice weekend day will see lots of aircraft and motor cycles plus great food. BQ1 is the identifier for the airport.

Love me a wood smoked pork loin sandwich with some tangy mustard sauce!

Mustard? Ewwwww....are you eating a ham sandwich or barbecue?

Actually I really don't care which kind of barbecue sauce you choose. It can be Eastern NC sauce or Western NC sauce, I like both kinds.

Actually, despite living ah hour west of Lexington, I'm more partial to the SC mustard-based sauces. I make that stuff up by the quart. My favorite Lexington style sauce I pick up at a place called Lexington Style Trimmings. I haven't been able to beat it with my own recipe.

I have not met a Q style I did not like. This week I had a chance to go to the Tin Top in Calera, AL and have their "pig wings." Fantastic! With a sauce that was sweet with a kick.

:yeahthat: Yeah baby! You tell 'em Mark! Bama BBQ is sooo good. And I know of better Q than the Tin Top.

The best thing about Pic N Pig is that it is onsite of BQ1. While not bad BBQ there is better IMHO, Terry's BBQ in Southport is awesome. But you need to borrow a courtesy car for the 2 mile drive from KSUT.

Sorry, mustard is not gonna work for me... its Eastern NC sauce for me or bust.. My old stomping ground and college town, there is a restaurant in Greenville, NC called “B’s BBQ”. That stuff is to die for..

need a crew car to get to it.

I’d say it’s a good bit above average BBQ but as you mentioned, being right on field makes it great. I need to hit it up again soon.

NC BBQ is pretty good, but don't forget KC BBQ.

We B Smokin BBQ is right on K81, Miami Co Airport, in Paola, KS.

One of these days we need to fly into DCU and go to big bob Gibson’s.

They usually are voted as Best BBQ in Alabama every year. Haven't had the honor yet, but yea, need to check it out for sure.

Is that on the field?? Do they not have mustard sauce? Hopefully in north Alabama they use tomato-based sauce with some kick to it . . . .

No, in town somewhere. Decatur airport is across the TN River, Decatur is south of the river, so probably10-15 miles I would guess.

Stanton's just got mentioned...another good place...

BQ1 is a cool place...just remember...bring CASH.

Another good one to hit sometime is Moonlite BBQ at OWB.

Yeah, thin sliced pork loin Q on Wonderbread with mustard sauce on one side and Mayo on the other. When I was a kid, my uncle used to send me to the projects with $5 for a sack full of sandwiches from Ms Bertie’s. She smoked the meat in a homemade pit and sold the sandwiches right out of her kitchen window.

Shhh!!! Don’t publicize pig wings, then everyone will want them. They are awesome.

Bread? Mustard? Mayonnaise?

How badly did she mess up the meat that she needed all that to cover it up!? Sauce should be minimal and compliment well smoked meat. If it's all about the sauce, just get a jar of sauce and a spoon!

I'm sorry, we shouldn't discuss religion here...
