I'm a definite tentative. I can't fly there yet (legally), but it's an easy drive. Have a lesson starting at 9 at RYY, will try and drive over after I'm done.

Reschedule your lesson for 11:00 and bring your instructor along.

So I guess flying the 21nm from Covington won't count? (even though I'm going to use more stinking fuel than the out of staters.)
Looking forward to it.

Looking forward to seeing the new plane. And you, of course.

10 day weather looks like it might clear up in time for the fly in.

Hope the weather is decent. I will have a flight like @RDUPilot. I've also asked a friend who recently moved to the area to join us. Hope he fits in - last year he received a Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award. The FAA gives those to pilots with 50 or more years of flying experience.

I’ll have a little room if anyone wants to come to CVC for the grueling 21nm flight.

It's beginning to look like I may be spending the weekend of the 24th in south Georgia dealing with a family issue. Not sure yet...

Let me know what time you are taking off and I'll see you there :)

...are we ok with W&B and can take enough fuel for that flight?

Sort of why I'm planning on driving. It's a whopping 18 nm from PDK. I'd spend more time on the ground after start-up than in the air.

Nothing says that you have to fly direct. Fly around for awhile, see some sights and then fly to lunch.

I just got off the phone with The Flying Machine and confirmed our event with them. She put it down on their planner. Now all we have to do is cross our fingers for good weather.

A little before 11 should work. Be great to see you.
As long as we have a 30 knot wind down the runway my numbers say we should get off the ground. Please don’t bring a lot of luggage.

Sounds good!
If we only have 25kts, I'll jump out and push. Don't see us having a problem.

Looks like I'll be in early and out by 1400 to get back to HSV before the rain. I just checked Pilots and Paws and there is a dog here in Huntsville that wants to get to Maryland. Any way we can make some connections for it?

Weather still looks up in the air for VFR...yes, I know...all weather is up in the air. If we have good enough weather and no mechanical issues like last time, I'm in.

Keeping an eye on the local forecast. Not looking too probable at this point.

The weather app on my phone just showing partly cloudy for Saturday. Not showing rain.

Extended forecast on weather.com showing partly cloudy and 10% chance of rain.

The forecast that I posted was for my area in SE Tennessee. I noticed the forecasts toward the Atlanta area look better. Time will tell.

This is Monday
Yep, and the forecast was for rain all last weekend too. I believe we only got it late Sunday afternoon and into the evening, depending upon where you are; it was small scattered rain.

Wanna see something kind of cool, look at Atlanta area temps right now. We have a wedge that has settled right over my area. We've been in the mid 50's all day while area in the SW part of the metro hit the upper 70's.

Apologies, but I'm out for this one. Totally forgot a commitment I had made to didn't complain about getting my PP and a plane... Hopefully I'll be able to fly myself to the next one.

Fingers crossed, we have conflicting forecasts right now, weather underground says 70% chance of rain, accuweather is saying mostly cloudy with a chance of showers.

Its not looking all that promising... Fingers crossed, toes crossed as well.

That's why the IR is so valuable. :p

Current weather prognostication shows Mostly Cloudy and 20% chance of rain in Atlanta on Saturday.

I totally agree, I have mines... But the real question is how many dont who are planning to make this trip???

No argument, I'm instrument rated, but haven't shot an approach in a little over four years. I just got back in the air, and did the FR a few weeks ago. After the time change I'm hoping to get some safety pilots lined up, get some practice, and then get the IPC completed.
