I brought it up over a year ago...I'll do so again:

One new feature I hate...

The location listed in the user's info next to their post is a hyperlink that will launch google maps. I occasionally accidentally hit it with my thumb while surfing on my iPad because I use my left thumb to scroll.

IMO it's a useless feature that's just a PITA when accidentally activated.

Does ANYONE see a value in this feature? If not, can the mods please disable it?

I still occasionally catch it with my left thumb while scrolling on my iPad and it launches BOTH a new browser window AND the google maps ap. It's quite aggravating.

I thought your thumbs were where the sun don't shine. :D

Just raggin' on ya mister. Said with no intent to create disharmony.

I had no idea that was there, and have never encountered it by accident.

I admit that I see no real value to it...

I too wasn't aware of its presence and never have activated it... accidentally or intentionally.

Same here... well, I just activated it intentionally in order to see what Tim was talking about.

Eh no biggie. Nice IF you want to know where they're located. If one lists where they're located.

And? Don't leave us hanging.
And the feature (what Tim calls a bug) works. It opened Google Maps. It works on a desktop too. Of course Google Maps can't find "cone of confusion", which you list as your location.

Yep. I clicked on yours just to see where Alabama was and just like I thought, not southeast. :D

I could see some value for the geographically challenged millennial liberal Californian cat loving Cirrus pilots but not for the rest of us.

There, did I manage to insult enough groups? I know it's a thing these days on here.

What's a ZenFro? Is it like FecesBook? Or Google hockey puck? Or some iWatch thingy? I am getting old.
Y'all worry about this millennial stuff. I'm gonna go fly instead. :)

What's a ZenFro?

If you don't like ZenForo you should probably stop using it. From the looks of things, you've been using it at an average of 3 times a day over the last 3.5 years...

@deonb - The forum software used by PoA is not ZenForo. it is XenForo.

I don't know what Zenforo is and I doubt I've ever used it, nor has @BigBadLou.

LOL Sounds like you could use some Zen-Fro, sir. :) "What is?" to "If you don't like it" is a pretty strange leap.
But thank you for the reminder that it is the forum SW, completely forgot after the big announcement during the switch a few years ago.
I completely agree with Br-Y-an, an actual ZenFro forum sounds like a much cooler place to hang out. Maybe we should branch off. ;)

AH. I never use a pc for browsing anymore. Just my phone. Don't see it there

Do you use tapatalk to access on your phone? If you use the web browser you will see it on you phone.

On mobile browser, you have to open the user info (click on the user) then location displays. Clicking on your Castle Rock, CO asks me if I want to open in google maps.

See the "Dallas" underlined? Click on that (or just lightly touch it accidentally) and it'll open google maps. Only shows up on my iPhone in landscape.

Aha. On mobile it's not there unless you click to view the users profile.

No wonder I couldn't see it Thanks y'all.

Rotate your device into landscape orientation and you’ll see it.

Sooo...

Can we get rid of it already?

c'mon Jason, you don't have anything else to do! Can't fly when it's this freakin' cold!

It is hereby ordered that Winters, Tim (1 each) identify and attend a training and orientation workshop on the efficient operation of various (alleged) smart devices. Greater benefit will be derived from participant rather than making the demanded forum changes. ENDZZZZZZZZ

Google Maps doesn't know where PUDBY is. :D

Can't fix it until everyone understands the problem. Let the rest of the class catch up first.
