Hi Folks! I'm new to the group and new to aviation!

I'm taking the Gleim ground school prep course now and begin accelerated training Jan 3 at HOVA in Hanover Co., Virginia. I going for my PPL and will be training in a Tecnam LSA.

This is something I've always wanted to do! I'm an Air Force brat and have always loved aviation. I attended Oshkosh last July and THAT sealed the deal! After wondering along the rows and rows of aircraft, many with tents pitched nearby, I knew that was the life for me! I'm now in a position where I can afford the time and the cost of training. I can't wait to get started!

I'm already researching local clubs, rental opportunities, and ownership. Local hangar space is $350 and there is no waiting list. Does that sound about right?

I'm thinking about renting for a while to make sure I'm going to fly enough to justify the other options. In the end, I generally like to have my own ride...
