Ignore Function

unfortunately for the rest of us a few users that should be ignoring each other aren't, :) they'd rather argue (not the good/constructive kind of argue)

There should be a 'condition based ignore'. Only if certain posters respond to certain other posters the ignore kicks in.
It would allow one to ignore bickering between certain old mechanics.
 
Using ignore is weak IMO. But some need it I guess, like running to the mods whining too.

Disagree.

There’s simply content I would just as soon not see. It does not enhance my life in any way. It dilutes more valuable content.

I remember when SomeTexan told me I should be lined up and shot for an opinion I expressed. Or Henning outlined his homicidal suicide plans. To the Ignore List they went and good riddance.

As I said, most on my Ignore List ended up banned or took their bomb-throwing elsewhere in short order anyway.

Use it or don’t use it - some find it a handy culling tool and it’s stupid to call it a sign of weakness.

That's how I feel about it. I don't care if you think it's stupid. If one can't skim over a post without ignoring that person because of some reason, that's weak.

I'm sure I am on some ignore lists but like @FastEddieB I have gone back through my list and all of them are listed as "Ejection handle pulled".
I tend to use it for the angry people, accounts I suspect are fake, and trolls.

Admittedly it is partially because I rubberneck these threads and Ignore helps me move along.

It's extremely difficult to "skim over" 15,000+ posts in two years.

You came in and completely changed the complexion of this place because you made every other post in every other thread (and still do). I had to put you on ignore for a while just so I could focus on the real content here without wading thru all your nonsense.

Just sayin'...

With all the silly trophies on this forum software, there should be one that is based on how many users have you on ignore.

I have one poster on ignore simply because my phone could run out of letters if it has to display his rambling off-topic posts that clutter up too many threads.
