Bama In! Final Four College Football

If W-L record has anything to do with it, why isn't University of Central Florida (UCF) even mentioned. I believe they are the only undefeated team this year.

Perhaps their game against Auburn in the Peach Bowl will answer that question.

@OkieFlyer too bad the game is all the way out in CA. Was going to say I could swing by to pick you up and we should go watch the dawgs whoop up on ya'll.

Oh well, I'll just have to wait for the next game in ATL and watch GA beat bama. :)

That's literally the most sense you're ever made. Boomer Sooner!

That said, I think it'll be OU/Bama in the big show. Call me crazy, but I got a feelin' the Tide is gonna roll against Clemson. I threw up in my mouth a little when I typed that.

I'd be good with that! ;)

Personally, I think the committee simply genuflected to the altar of Nick Saban. Can you say "Canadian figure skating"?

And last year they genuflected to the alter of Urban Meyer, and he rewarded the committee with OSU laying the big goose egg. Will Alabama deliver? Who knows.

I believe a team west of the Mississippi will prevail.

An 8 team playoff would be much better than what we have now, but I'd much rather see at least 16 teams, and I'd even push for double elimination. Of course, in football, that would practically take as long as a whole season.

It never needs to go past 8 teams. If you're not good enough to make the Top 8, I don't wanna hear it. It allows for the P5 conference champs, plus a few at-large bids. Going anything further than that makes the regular season almost meaningless. I don't particularly care for the NCAA basketball tournament, either, but I don't watch the regular season much because of that tournament structure.

Fine by me! But I don't believe that's the case. Right now I feel the final will be OK and Clemson, with OK winning it all.

I like your style. :)

I dunno who'll win the Clemson/Bama match-up. Clemson has some big guys on their lines that stifle most offensive production. I'm not particularly impressed with Jalen Hurts as a QB, either. I honestly don't know who I'd rather play if OU makes it past the Dawgs. I do like that we're not playing in someone's "backyard" for once. Playing FL in Florida, USC in California, and LSU in Louisiana has been a bit ridiculous! Although, Clemson or Bama isn't exactly a long drive to Atlanta.

Clemson-Georgia would be a good game.

I have a feeling that all the match-ups should be good games. The only problem is that we've seen the Bama-Clemson match-up before. Amazingly enough, OU and UGA have never met up before, so this will be new ground for both schools.

I'm no football fan by any stretch but no matter the game I like winning teams so I will say;

Roll on Crimson Tide!

The original selection a few weeks ago with GA at #1 was an attempt to work toward an AL/GA national championship. Unfortunately they couldn't know Auburn was going to smack down both GA and AL. Now they've got it set up again.

C'mon Randy, you don't really believe that do you? #1 seed plays #4 seed, #2 plays #3. It's that way on these brackets. I don't think anyone can dispute right now that Clemson should be #1. Just the way it falls. If Clemson wins then what are you going to use?

Knew I liked you for some reason Norm! :thumbsup:

Well, technically you can dispute whether OU or Clemson should be #1, as they have the same record, are both conference champs, and both had a terrible loss to a crappy team. Clemson's loss wasn't at home like OU's, but OU has a much harder SOS. OU has more wins over higher-ranked teams, but Clemson has looked consistent all year. Eye-test, yada yada.

Key to success in college football: Finish 3rd in your conference, beat one team in the Top 25, avoid any Conference Championship game, and beat Mercer. Roll Tide!!!

Worked didn't it! :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Man, I'd love to catch an OU playoff game, but I don't want to go to Cali to do it. However, you probably ought to get out there and catch Georgia's last game.

Pizz on 'em!!

(Buzz buzz)

BTW, Final Four is for basketball. Figures a Bama fan would post a subject title like that.

Heartwarming photo for JOhnH and rpadula (pizza delivery on the GT campus):

For those of you who don't recognize it, that's a University (sic) of Georgia license plate.
