I had a need for the wire wheel attachment for my dremel recently and the wires are so tiny and flimsy they rip off after a few seconds, even on warm butter. Anyone found a wire wheel tip that is more robust? (many years ago I found largely indestructible cutoff wheels, way better than the frangible discs Dremel sold, just wondering about this attachment.) I think this is a 1/8" integral mandrel.

Where did you find the cutoff wheels? The Dremel ones are useless, but I haven't found a good replacement.

I used little wire wheels from Lowes....worked nicely for removing carbon and crap on the inside of the cylinder.

I have corrosion on my butter; that's my program!

Dare I ask what you're using the wire wheel to clean? You don't use a wire wheel to clean aluminum, because bits of the wheels will embed in the aluminum and cause dissimilar metal corrosion.

The EZ Locks are a lot tougher than the old dremel wheels, although I had some problems with the special wheel holder wearing out and the wheels spinning free, effectively broken/useless at that point.

Me too. I consider those dangerous having had some spin free right by by head as they broke loose. or if it lose?...
