This is nuts no parachute skydive

I remember watching that a while back..that is crazy and cool....but also really F'n stupid.

In the dirt bike and FX world... Travis Pastrana is GOD!
Just like Tony Hawk or ‘The Birdman’ is the king of skating. The guy is almost 50 and he’s still got his mojo.

Ironically, Tony and Travis are best buds and Tony is a partner in his "Nitro Circus" business.

I bet they are! Both living legends.
Pastrana's wife is/was a pro woman's skateboarder. She was instrumental in bringing him onboard to their business. They did a show a few years back just down the street from my house. I went over (media pass) and hung out with them and their crew watching how they set everything up and how they conducted their show. More interested in the nut/bolts and logistics of what it takes to put a show of that caliber on than the show itself. Very interesting to say the least. I learned a lot.

Depends on which dirt bike world...I saw him as a "waste of talent" in the mx racing world, as I think he had the skills to be a repeated champion, but he couldn't stay focused. Not to say he hasn't had an extremely successful career otherwise. And he and his family are very nice. When my buddy and I approached them at a race, and they found out we were both LEO, his dad invited us right into their motorhome. We sat talking for half an hour. Very cool.

I look at the cars I used to race, then I look at modern stock cars and all the safety innovations. It's a wonder I survived.

One rollover that I remember was so violent that it knocked the breath out of me. The car was upside down so I unfastened the belts, fell on my head and had just enough strength to get my head and one arm out of the car.

I remember the rescue team coming up and one guy goes.... "He's dead". Just like that, no emotion, no checking me out, just calling me dead.

I turned and looked at him and someone else took over checking me out.

The car was dead. finished. We cut it up for spare scrap metal. Even the engine had crash damage to it.

Did he dominate the MX world like McGrath, Carmichael, etc.? No. He won his share of titles and went on to bigger and better things (FMX world) and dominated that series. His antics (first to do double back flip) is what brought the FMX sport to the masses. I don't think I'd want to suffer (bodily wise) what it takes to compete in that sport. Definitely for the young guys. My props to all those extreme athletes. All those guys are cool to hang with. They don't have the sh*tty attitudes you find in many of the professional sports. They're just down home humble people. Kinda like many of the NASCAR and Pro Rodeo guys are. Very humble, approachable, and appreciative of their fans. That's why I like those types of sports and rarely watch any of the mainstream crap.
