Meet the Fokkers
The planets finally aligned and I have slipped the surly bonds of studentshipnessism, therefore releasing my terror upon unsuspecting aerodromes across the country. (yes yours too)
Bwahahahahahahaha!!
It has begun

psst, Dear, @6PC...
This newfound imminent threat to the safety of all, should stimulate sales of The Big Yellow X by at least 10 fold as they panic in the dread about to befall them.
Per our 50% profit agreement (undisclosed to you until this time) please send the check to this address: PM sent

Wohooooooo congrats pilot

Oh gawd, you're a pilot now?

Congrats birdman! Go terrorize the skies and impress the women folk.

Congratulations! Major accomplishment! But never forget that you have now been granted a certificate to continue to learn! (As I am too learning more beyond the checkride. Sorry to be the buzz-kill!) But you’ll continue to learn plenty more as go out and bore more holes in the sky!

As WannFly stated, “Congratulations, Pilot!”

Congrats!!!! Hope you are taking considerable pride in your accomplishment. Well done, pilot!

Way to go. I'll be a spoke in your X any day. At at least minimum wage of course. Always a pleasure to see someone who has hung around here get their wings. Now go fly

Awesome, congrats! Now go do some fun flying!

Thanks everyone.
I've learned far more from this board than I'll ever be able to contribute. I appreciate the advice, experience and knowledge, and also the many many laughs.

Now talk me out of buying a RV

or a Cessna
or a Mooney
or a Beech
or etc.

My mission is threefold:
1. Have fun
2. Share flying adventures with my family.
3. Don't break anything... including bones, planes, or bank accounts.

You forgot #4!

4. Post my screw ups on POA so they can make fun of me and call me insulting names. :D

And I'm ready to try on some new wings, hopefully:

182
Taildragger(s)
RV
Mooney

probably in that order, unless it's not :)

Congratulations!

I look forward to hearing about the new plane you’ll buy. The economics are debatable but there is nothing like being able to just climb in and go flying when you feel like it because it’s your plane. Take the time to find the right one for you and you won’t regret it

Awesome!!!!!!!

I started about a month after you so seeing you and @WannFly getting signed off gives me hope and envy :)

I say buy a plane if you can. Are planning on family flying, just you and the wife or mainly just yourself?

Hard to say what will happen, vs what I hope will happen. I think a lot of pilots will attest to that lol.
We have various weight ranges in the family, so that's going to be a juggling act.
Want a RV for 2 seats
Need a 4 seater sometimes
Need a 3 seater a lot of times
to sum it up in one word: dang!

Nothing says buying vs renting is an all or nothing deal. Buy the two seater, rent a four seater for the few occasions you need it.

Congratulations! Earning you PPL is one of the greatest accomplishments in life. Very few non-pilots realize the knowledge, skill set and dedication it takes to become a licensed pilot. I would humbly suggest to just enjoy flying for a while before you delve into aircraft ownership. You will have a much better idea of what you want/need as you build up time. Also, fly as many different aircraft as you can as this will make the decision process much easier. Once again, congratulations!

Precisely my intentions good sir.
Only barrier is finding things to rent around here. I've flown everything close, other than a 182 that's in a club..which is expensive, and still a 45 minute drive one way.

But, I guess in a world of many problems, it's one of the better problems to have.
