I'm not doing a tree this year. Nobody coming over.:(

I am really surprised my wife isn't bugging me about a tree yet. They start Christmas season right after Halloween in the Philippines.

And my mom usually doesn't take her tree down until March or so.

Better yet, I keep the lights up all year.....on.

I have my orders so ours will be up in the next few days.

I was pretty much toast when I couldn't say "It's not even Thanksgiving yet" any more. :)

Still need to get an appointment for the outdoor light guy. Might actually be able to push THAT to December.

Yeah, once Thanksgiving gets here it starts, and I can usually stretch it out (postpone) to the first week of December. But now it's a fake, prelighted (yea!), so it'll go up the next few days. I used to be big on lights, but don't get up on ladders too much, so the bushes/shrubs get the outdoor lights.

Lived in Manilla and Clark Air Base when I was a kid, don't remember that. Surprised my mother didn't pick that up! lol

Our tree has to down by New Years Day, bad luck if not, wife's family thing I guess. Fine by me, get it over with and get back to normal.

I've been teased about hiring someone to put the outside lights up.

I tell them I'm not comfortable on ladders.

And then I hear "but you'll go to 10,000' in a plane some guy built in his garage?"

Fear of falling, not a fear of heights. I learned that from one of my former students, a psychiatrist. Very interesting person to listen to.

I’m not super happy on ladders either. I’ll fly planes and climb radio towers too, but ladders I do only because I have to.

Yup. I often wake with a start for a couple days after radio tower work, realizing I woke up feeling like I had fallen off the tower. Not my favorite way to wake up.

Dog just spent a week at the sitters while we flew around visiting family. He hasn’t moved from that spot in 8 hrs....I guess I better make sure he’s still breathing, lol.

I think back to what I used to do on ladders, sometimes half drunk, and I'm surprised I didn't kill myself. Now if I get up on one and wifey sees me, I catch hell. Still don't get off though. Don't do the extension ladders anymore though.

Nice Harrier/VMA presento. Should hang that before the tree :) (I shouldn't talk, mine are all wrapped up in shipping paper, stashed somewhere in a closet somewhere, after the latest move)

Moving. Last year I moved mom in with us after her husband died. Almost 90% of the boxes we shipped are full of Christmas decorations..!!!

I mean my 12X18 storage building with loft is almost full.

I think I will keep those decorations that are over 40 years old and donate the rest. 40 years, what am I talking about. Some of the stuff is better than 75 years old.!!

For those who go nuts with the lights...

Where do you get ‘em in bulk?

I need something like 2000’ of them. Probably LED or Mr Ohm and his pesky laws will not be happy with me.

But I’m trying not to have that break the bank.

Hahaha! That's the exact same ladder I used to get my husband's drone out of the tree the day I decided to teach myself how to fly it while he was at work. Only I did not need to use the not-a-step. I was able to reach the drone with a broom from the top actual step. Lesson learned: when teaching yourself how to fly a drone, do it where there are fewer trees.

Haha. At least you did it while he was at work. ;)

We’ve only been in this house about 4 months and I was busy with ground school/IUT and then gone a month on Det. I’m sure we’ll get around to it at some point. Although, we were in our last house for a year and didn’t hang them there either, lol.
