Mario, you have posted your inquiry in the middle of a thread...that's a party foul. Consider starting your own thread on the proper forum and I'll bet you get some answers. I'd start by looking on Barnstormers.com or at one of the larger aircraft salvage yards...Wentworth is the only one I know off the top my my head. http://www.wentworthaircraft.com/

Thank you sorry about the thread I am new to this and thanks for the info.

I regret to mention that I've had the opportunity to fly only one of the above. All of my flying has been in much more mundane aircraft, but someday....

That I can afford? Or just dreaming for a potential lottery win? :D

The lottery list would include more Jet-A burning planes; PC-12, King Air 200, King Air 90, Piaggo, CJ4.

If I have to foot the bill, much more along the lines of what I've been flying; SR22, SR22T, B-58P, C-310, Mako, RV-10.

Well, heck. If we’re talking lottery list:

Douglas SBD

So how was the F-86 to fly? Lol

Sad but I can't really think of 10... my progression would probably be

1.) PA-28-181, late 80s model with some nice upgrades like a 650, don't need any real glass though. Would be an okay cross country plane and a cheap way to build time
2.) SR20, would be a nice comfortable upgrade from the Archer, with some speed advantage.. without too much of a leap to turbos, FIKI, etc. and a fairly mild learning/adjustment curve
3.) Diamond DA62. I would skip the SR22 altogether and go for the twin. The DA62 has FIKI, has redundancy of a second engine, is modern and comfortable (like a Cirrus), and doesn't rely on some rube goldberg ancient avgas engine tech, but would be running JETA with FADEC engines, and give me a lot of payload options depending on fuel load, etc. For the typical 3 hr mission I could easily load up a DA62

But then I have to ask myself... if I can afford a new DA62, and not just afford to buy, but actually own, operate, and maintain it, then why not stretch the budget a little and just get a TBM.. or even something like a Mustang? The only reason to stay non turbine would be to fly into some smaller airports? I don't think I've ever seen a turbine at Catalina or Big Bear or Montauk for example (but I'm probably wrong)

Top 10?? Not sure I'm even familiar with that many models that I'd have on my list of 'planes to own'.. Here's the ones I know I like, for different reasons:

PT-17 Stearman
WACO YMF-5
Pitts Special (The first three are starting a trend, aren't they...)
Cessna 310 (Because they can't all be bi-planes and occasionally need to be practical)
T-38 Talon (Because it's a jet.)
Acrostar BD-5J (Because it's a jet and was in a James Bond movie.)
...And I don't have 4 more.. Listing the SR-71 would be gratuitous as well as ridiculous. :D

I'm barely at 40 hours and only time in 1 type but If I won the lottery tomorrow I would look at two planes. Carbon Cub XCub for fun, and a TBM 930 or Cessna Denali for travel. Hell maybe a Cirrus Jet. Something to play around with locally and in the dirt, and something that could haul me and 5 friends to Vegas regularly :D

Don’t know if I can get to ten

Mooney M20C
Mooney 201
Mooney Ovation
Cessna 140
L19 Bird Dog
Cessna 180

Mooney M20C
Mooney 201
Mooney Ovation
Cessna 140
L19 Bird Dog
Cessna 180

For some reason I would like to try the M22 Mustang. Just to see how it flies!

Cessna Cardinal RG
Extra 400/500
Cessna 210 (P or Silver Eagle preferably)
MU-2 (with a lot of recurrent training)
Bonanza A-36
Diamond DA-62
Cessna 414

Wow, the list is shorter than I expected.

Someone else is footing the bills?
F-104G or S
P-38L
Piaggio P.180 Avanti II
Globe Swift with mods of my choice
Taylorcraft BC-12D with a starter and 85 hp
Aeronca 7AC same as above
Luscombe or PA-11 on floats
Arion LS-1

Chances are, at my age, I should probably fly the F-104 last. It may be my only flight in it.

My list starting with a low budget. Piper Tripacer with good fabric, Piper Cherokee, Cessna 140-182, Ercoupe, Mooney, Piper Twin Comanche, Aerostar, Later Bonanzas F or A-36. One that is fun to fly and paid for. One that won't try to kill you.
Cessna 210 !
Cessna 185
Cessna 206 on retractable gear floats
Beaver on floats
Cessana 150 aerobat with a taildragger mod
Citabria
Helio Courier
Cessna 340

Carbon 180 HP Cub ( maybe on floats)
Cessna 182 (1975-1985)

Not sure which ones I'd want to actually own, but here's a list of some of the ones I'd most like to fly.

1. Quickie Q1 (I'd settle for a ride in a Q2 or Q200)
2. Mooney M18 Mite
3. McCulloch J-2
4. Mini Imp
5. BV-141 (the only warbird to make my list)
6. Taylor Coot (I'd settle for a Seabee or a Lake Amphibian)
7. VariViggen (I'd settle for a ride in a VariEze or Long-EZ, but the Viggen is just so much cooler)
8. Rutan Boomerang
9. Transavia PL-12 Airtruk
10. Ercoupe (without rudder pedals)

Piaggio Avanti
There was one based in Albany, NY that I used to watch fly overhead fairly frequently. They look like beautiful planes. I'd settle for just getting to walk inside one.

Some to own - now, soon, someday:
