"Mountain Flying" (Blairsville GA)

I'm a big mountain fan but the problem with big mountains is, you get big mountain winds. In the southeast, you can pretty much fly year round and not get beat up too bad with turbulence. Flying out west and mountainous areas overseas, I've seen aircraft get tossed around like a toy.

Fly at night. It is a lot smoother...unless you fly below the mountain tops...:lol:

V is a helicopter guy, bet he has done some flying below Mtn tops, probably did some of that out in NV when flew with the aggressors.

Comes with the territory but I never break the 300 ft FAR minimum. ;) Landed on a culdesac in the middle of a subdivision the other night.
 
Fast Eddie is quite the general aviation ambassador. Took me up on my first flight two years ago!
