Gear up landing in Maryland yesterday

That would explain the hands in the pockets. Mystery solved. He is not actually the coolest guy in the world, he just wanted to check if he had his keys and cell phone.

I don't believe the '66 Pa30 had a key. 3 position ignition switches and a pushbutton for the starter is what I remember.

I just about can't land on those rare days that it's dead calm, it seems I'm often too high . . . Full flaps, Idle very early, a little sideslip, and an occasional go around because I just can't get down.
I am getting a feel of this too. Practiced some crossword landings today 16g24 from 30 degrees, all 3 were greezer, 10 times better than calm days. On calm days and especially when I have a pax, I am guaranteed to land with a thud or plop

Your insurance company actually TOLD you that?

I’ve owned 2 high performance twins and have never been told anything like that.

Not that I disagree with the logic, but never been told how to fly my airplane by with my brother or underwriter.

LOL. No. First you have to ASK them. What are the things that do, or could, increase the cost of my insurance?
THEN they will tell you.
