Blocked Profiles

Since I moved out of metro NYC a few decades ago I haven't had a decent bagel.

Reminds me of the M*A*S*H episode where they order from Adams Ribs in Chicago.

Price Chopper sells some frozen ones that are made in Brooklyn. They're decent. I think it's the water. I'll check out the brand next time I'm there. I imagine other supermarkets sell them, too.

I don't care if someone wants to keep their privacy on here. It is annoying when someone makes their profile private and then trolls on here though. There are a few folks on here who have done that.

Thanks- Anxiously awaiting.

Closest PC is Stroudsburg 1.5hrs , might as well go into the city.

Rays New York Bagels. Not quite the same as buying them fresh from the Jewish bakery, but they're about as close as I've found out here in the boonies.

Wegman's also sell them. If there's no Price Chopper near you, there's almost surely a Wegman's. It's long been believed that the Wegman and Golub families have an informal non-compete agreement that goes back several generations. I asked Danny Wegman once, but all he would say was that he had no idea what the two old men talked about.

Wegman's house brand bagels aren't half bad on their own. My wife is in The City today, though, so she'll be bringing home some of the good stuff.

Thanks, will check it out. Wegmans about 10 min away.

Are they related to (Famous) (Original) Ray's pizza? :)

Hope she brings enough for all of us!

Nope. Apparently Ray started the business specifically to provide Brooklyn bagels to people who had left The City and longed for a decent bagel. A noble mission, for sure.

I can't stand eating right after I wake up, either. It makes me nauseous to think about it. But I usually get up between 5:00 and 5:30, and I don't eat breakfast until about 8:30. That makes it more of an early brunch. Usually I make eggs and Something Else.

Not much there for a vegan other than the peppers and onions, I'm afraid.

Rich

Real Fiestaware? We have that, too. And your orange plate is mildly radioactive if it is. ;)

Damn that looks yummy, better than the greek yogurt w/ blueberries & bananas I just ate...:(

A Prince among men!

BTW, the "Ray's Pizza" reference was a nod to the movie "Elf."

Has to be the old stuff for the radioactivity.

That’s right, about Fiesta Ware.

I’ve actually used a geiger counter on an old orange-colored plate, and it clucked vigorously. Lots if uranium in the pigment.

New ones, even of the same color, are not radioactive.

Yeah. We have some of the old stuff. And some newer stuff. Karen likes the colors too.

What on earth did you do to those poor, innocent eggs? Did they insult you? Have conjugal relations with your wife? Perhaps you didn’t get the yolk?

Broccoli in eggs...aughta be illegal...

I have an appointment to get to today, but later on I'll look through my stash of egg pictures if I have the time. I've put pretty much anything edible you can think of in eggs. They're a very versatile and nutritious food, but I find them rather bland in their unadulterated form.

There will be an outgassing event from that combination. It will be an 11 on a scale of 1 to 5...

Ah I see, so you're not flying in for the event then either?
No. I have previously been involved in capping uncontrolled releases of natural gas so I’ve already paid my dues.

So, officially retired from those nauseating functions. Gotcha.

my name is easy enough to find. Don't say anything online you don't want attributed to you and its all good

I never use my real birthday or year. I never disclose that info - nor enough of info that you can back into any other information online about it to hack passwords and important key information.

you know those mothers maiden name and other password recovery data and identity proof sources?

I use the same identifier for all of them - not real secure - unless its an 8 letter number random sequence. They don't 'check' those answers.

If its a web site that only gives you select choices [ like favorite ice cream flavor or pre-selected sports teams] then I don't play/.

Security is important - but - hell - my ID is now readily available given the Experian hack - so whats the point? Freeze your credit on all three reporters and move on.

That is why I spend winters in NM.

And yes, work. This internet thingy is driving me nutty....
