Can the FAA just stop by?

Considering the number of 'likes' for the post and the PMs I received about it, there seem to be others who are tired of these passive aggressive 'take a guess what I am thinking and I'll tell you that you are wrong' threads.
Ignore Thread

Sure, and tomorrow there is another thread 'Can an A&P use left-handed wrenches' .....

Don't read that one either. You're making this too hard. You can't have it your way. There are other opinions and other tastes than yours. Just because YOU don't enjoy a topic doesn't mean others do enjoy it. Maybe you should stick to the classifieds?

Can they just call and ask if you are home, and could they stop by?

Sounds good to me. After all, they are civil servants, right? Servants stopping by could be useful.

I’d just tell them I need to have the leaves cleaned out of the gutter, and please do it right away.

The FAA is kind of like vampires. They have to be invited in.

These threads are ok. We learn about his skills as an A&P by his questions and his responses.
And your posts are just as informing, we have learned you think GA engines determine the direction or rotation by gearing.

My reply above was rather neutral, it seems you are a bit sensitive here. I didn't denigrate your skills or knowledge. The world judges you on what you post here.

As for the comment about engine rotation, I've no idea what you are talking about. All the planes I can fly are direct-drive from the engine to the prop. No gearing at all.

Can you use a combination SAE/Metric adjustable wrench on airplanes?

Yes! But they must have proper calibration by standards of ISA and/or SAE depending on their application.
If you want to use Left hand tools, you must get a written approval from a Catholic Nun,
in triplicate, validated on a form 337.
just ask your fsdo...

I have a pipe wrench that is ambidextrous, it'll go left or right. :)

Most scissors are right handed. I've never seen pair of left-handed scissors, though we've ones that are ambidextrous.

My mom was left handed. I have a pair of her left-handed surgical scissors. Hard for a rightie to use.

Totally off topic (when did that stop anyone on POA?), but, you refer your home as "Steinholm". Stein Island? The thought came to me on a tour of Stockholm today where the question was asked about the name of the city. Swedish for "Log Island". There's a story behind the name, too. :)

His shop is a Quonset next to his home.
What makes you believe that is where I do my A&P-IA thing.
75% of my work is owner supervised maintenance and annual inspections. the other 25% is inspecting 337 to sign off block 7.
how much of that do you believe would be done at home?

my contact info as required by the FAA is simply a phone number, and they have my e-mail too.

I remember seeing left handed scissors when I was in elementary school. They looked just like normal scissors, but they were embossed with the word "Lefty".

yes they do many random flight deck observations in jump seat for both commerical and business

Isn't that done in a different context than when they do a audit on an A&P-IA.
