I keep peanut butter powerbars in my flight bag, but I'm willing to branch out. What are some other good ones?

Whatever is sitting in my pantry.. usually nutrigrain or nature valley bars, or those lance pb crackers.

I once put a banana in my bag for a cross country. Didn't fly again for 3 weeks after that. Did not eat the banana on the trip...

I don't eat in the airplane.

(sorry, I had to go there)

Nature Valley Oats and Honey granola bars.
Only in a caloric crisis - try to keep rodent attractants out of airframe.

When you own airplane your perspective changes quite a bit. I don't eat in mine ever, and discourage it for my passengers. There are no liquids allow that are more opaque than distilled water. My interior has sufficient stains as it is. Changing out interior components is either time consuming or expensive.

I'm the same way with the car as well. But I'm a little bit more liberal with drink choices.

PB&J for inflight meals. I tried some kung pao chicken once while flying. But rice and chopsticks didn't work out very well in the bumps...

Throw a handful up on the glare shield and let the sun warm them up. When the little bags are all puffy, it's to eat. Works great on car dashboards as well.

Nick Saban, Alabama Coach, has two every morning with his coffee. How do I know? Because ****ing ESPN actually interviewed him about it!

My grandson calls 'em "pop pop" cookies because I always have some on hand and we'd eat one together. Nice memory, if I can remember it later. :D

Beef jerky of course. Peanut butter crackers are good, but eating one generally activates a call from ATC

Just respond,

"Center, 200RC. Sorry for the delay in responding, I had to visit the galley in the back of the aircraft, and stopped to flirt with the FA on the way back."

Clif bars, specifically Chocolate Brownie. I try to minimize eating in the airplane, even rentals, and certainly friends' airplanes.

The Clif bars, when reasonably fresh, are moist enough to have minimal or no crumbs.

Also, since drinking water means you have to get rid of it... I am a big fan of cough drops. They keep your mouth from drying out (great in turbulence!).

If it is a long flight, I will grab a Subway turkey and avocado sandwich and a bottle of water. Other than that, I don’t carry snacks.

Nothing that will create crumbs and cannot be fully consumed (no apple cores, orange peels, etc), and only water are allowed in my plane, and even then only on long flights.

Clear soda is still sugar water that will attract dirt and bugs. No, no, no.

I will allow food in a cooler in the baggage area to be consumed on destination.

This policy is to keep the plane nice, but also because hungry and thirsty passengers are less likely to need emergency bathroom breaks in the middle of a flight.

Picked seedless grapes in ziplock bags or tupperware-style container. Hydration and calories w/o crumbs.

Chocolate milk in the boxes you poke a little straw into.

My flights are short enough that a bottle of water is all I'll take. I did do a reasonably long XC one night and my wife handed me a ziplock bag of fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookies as I was walking out the door. I popped them at about the halfway point, they were outstanding.
