It doesn't make sense why some people choose not to include at least their state in their profiles, but it boggles my mind that someone would block access to their profile. When you click on it, you get an error. That's not very neighborly. As a new member here, it's helpful to learn a little bit about who other people are. Since people with blocked profiles don't want to be bothered, it's only fair to put them on Ignore, which I have now done. Thanks to everyone who shares freely.

People can choose the level of privacy they allow on the internet for themselves. Though many people here know my name, I choose not to freely display it because this message board is not private. Largely I'd have no problem with anyone on PoA knowing things about me, but the entire internet is privy and nothing on the internet is truly ever "gone". To each their own.

I agree with the policy and am glad that people have a choice. However, there is no privacy on the Internet. Ask Equifax.

Wow, of all the reasons to put someone on ignore, whoda thunk it?

How do u know it’s not that way be default? I don’t even know if u can see my profile, I never put a seconds thought into that.

I didn't know it was possible to do that? I just looked at mine, you can turn on or off stuff or you can leave stuff blank but how do you turn it off so all somebody gets is an error message? If people are banned or close their account maybe?

Thanks for the heads-up- just got in there and further restricted my stuff - please, feel free to ignore me.

I've gone from an ignored list of 2 to Zero.

Thankfully the truly worthless thing I was ignoring has me on ignore (according to his previous posts) and the other has actually turned out to be interesting to read.

So maybe you shouldn't judge the book by the cover and instead save those ignores for people who earn them.

Most posters are easy enough to figure out where they're coming from. [Geographically and otherwise]

Except for the mods.

Mods should have to post their real name, phone number, street address and social security number.

WTF would you wanna know that for?! As much as I've been banned I wouldn't waste time hunting down a mod. I have better things to.

Like post here...:(

I can see my own profile but I still might ignore myself just cause I'm probably a dbag
If you put yourself on ignore you’ll disappear from the interwebz.

How else can they hide behind their little monicker and snipe with out penalties ?

Maybe the new ultimate POA insult will be "Ah, go ignore yourself." Or maybe "Ah, go ban yourself."

Both are better than the butt hurt related stuff that are happily less prevalent lately.

Actually, that's not the case. You know who they are, but they turn off access to their profiles, which have no information in them anyway. The function makes the forum software looks like it's broken. You click on a valid link but you get an error message. The correct way, IMHO, is to just not publish information you don't want anyone to see.

Best thing to do is log out.

Does anyone know what happened to @Skyrys62? He hasn't been around in a while.

I don’t mind people trying to maintain some privacy.

Except for the mods.

Mods should have to post their real name, phone number, street address and social security number.

And their birth dates. And their favorite cake flavor. And what color jewelry they like to wear. And their shoe size (although I don't really feel comfortable buying shoes for someone else, it's hard enough to buy shoes for the feet I have). And a gift registry. And their Amazon Wish List.

And then we can all decide what our dollar gift limits will be. .0001 AMU? .01 AMU? 10 AMU? Or maybe the Sky's the Limit???

Just exactly how much information do we need to shower them with Kindness???

I see @Skyrys62 post but no contact. Someone needs to tell him to reset what he screwed with.

Probably a Millennial if I had to guess. They're so used to sharing every **** and **** they take on social media that it seems unnatural to them that some people don't.

My profile is wide open. Not much to see, but if it suits your fancy and you’d like to take a peek, you’re more than welcome to.

I guess I will need to block mine as well. I don’t want all of you crazed deviants knowing I’m a male in Charlotte. Oh, that’s in the southeast for the geographically challenged.

;)

How can North Carolina be southeast? Clearly it’s north. It’s right in the name.

Being from the north myself, I like to tell the folks down here that NC is part of the North not the South. They don’t seem to appreciate that viewpoint.
