Icon A5 Prices Rise

I've been on a Class 1/2/3 medical for the past 25 years. Not sure I'd call it a privilege. Just a simple requirement to play the game. Never have thought the medical process was that difficult. Keep yourself in shape and don't get arrested for DUIs. Not that hard.

Wait another 20 or 30 years and then see how easy you think it is.

Staying in shape and avoiding DUIs is good advice, but it doesn't prevent all of the potential medical issues for which the FAA requires deferrals or special issuances.

Crooks! They should at least sell the planes at the agreed price to people with deposits. Then they can raise the price later. I may call the company and tell them what I think. I hope every single person asks for their deposit back.
I wonder how many folks actually have a deposit on these airplanes?

Short phone call..?? (sorry, could not resist)

The deposit did not come with a price guarantee. The contracts states that the price may go up. The depositors agreed with that. I probably would not have agreed to that though.

To some people spending 2 million on a luxury is like me spending 200 bucks on a luxury.

Sure, it'll get harder over time but i don't look at it as a privilege to be able to pass a medical. Maybe a privilege to fly but pass a medical, nope. You can either pass or you don't. Majority of the people who want to become pilots can easily pass. I have more worries about passing my annual checkride than my 30 minute Class 2.

When the time comes that I can't pass, I'll have no problems hanging it up.

Then again, we live in a country where for many, $400k or so is a rounding error in their net worth. Adding an ICON A5 to 10 million dollar yacht, or putting one in the hangar alongside their Citation or Gulfstream, for instance, would be an easy reach.

Actually, that would be a pretty cool way to get around various destinations from your yacht. Maybe even better than a helo. Hmmmm, may have to think about that. :D

Yes a short call just to tell the owner of the company 2 things.
1) He is a idiot.
2) He is a crook.
