Do you wear anything special when flying?

A 5 pound waterproof/breathable hooded rain parka and zip pants kit is always with me. All the jacket's big pockets filled with survival gear, Sat PLB, an insulated vest, gloves, hat, plus dry socks and chemical heat pads. The farther out into true wilderness the flight is, the more likely that hiking boots will be thrown in the aircraft to exchange for my usual sneakers if a one hour flight turns bad and involves a multi day hike out in bad Wx. For quick grabbing, the rain parka arms are tied together so it forms its own sling, and in tight cockpits with no baggage compartments such as a SWZR 300, it's "worn" slung over a shoulder so that the bulging pockets are situated to hang to one side in the bubble window. With mountain Wx doing its routine worst to visability, even the position reporting won't help cause nobody can fly to you and it's walk out yourself or die of hypothermia.

A Scott eVest. More pockets than a herd of kangaroos. Other than that, normal casual clothing or one of my old flightsuits if I'm going to a Warbirds meeting.

Cheers

It'd be even more fun in this....

OK, I gots ta axe...

Why would someone paint a post war Cessna like this - big fan of "The Man in the High Castle" or some other alternate history thing?

Searching for the N number turns up pictures of the airplane in white with red trim similar to the factory style - so this is ether a very new or very old picture.

Very old...the picture was taken in ~1981. Don't know WHAT the guy was thinking, but the plane has been repainted long since. Looking at the registry, it's actually now based at my home field. Got into a discussion on the EAA web page and dug up that image. One guy pointed out that the paint job was very accurate for the FW-190 flown by the Group Leader of JG-54.

Participants in the EAA discussion might remember this shot, too....
