Flew my first aerobatic contest Llano this weekend. For those that put on the contest, thanks for a great weekend! I learned a ton and met some great people.

For those of you that haven't done this yet, I encourage you to try it out. Go find an IAC chapter, learn a little about aerobatic flying and come fly with us. It's a really great group of people and you'll become a better pilot.

Did you fly Primary or Sportsman? Glad you had a good experience and we're always glad to rope in more suckers!

Flew Primary since it was my first contest. It went well once I found the box. Man, that thing is tiny!

Definitely add one more sucker to the fold. Now to practice the Sportsman maneuvers.

No video. Maybe I'll setup the GoPro during a practice session for some online critique.

Dooood, you can't say "I flew an aerobatic contest" and not post a video.
It's like eman posting "boobies inside this thread" and attaching a picture of two birds. *shrug*

On a related note: what did you compete in? And why the heck did y'all not announce it ahead of time? I'd have attended!!

Yeah right? He's in my backyard and doesn't tell us where we can go to watch his performance?!?!?

I would NEVER!!!!!!!

Ha! This was the "Hill Country Hammerfest" in Llano. Whiled you wouldn't have been impressed with my performance, there were some amazing pilots there! Makes me realize how much I have to learn.

This is some seriously fun flying. Go checkout the contest calendar at www.IAC.org.

Mike, there are some folks not far from you renting Super Decathlons!
