Gaston's Fly-In 2017 - Thursday Oct 12-Sunday Oct 15, 2017

There are methods to speed it up a little, make certain calls on certain days and ask questions in the correct way. This is just a small part of the knowledge dr Bruce brings to the process.

Yeah my regular physician also does my flight physical, so hot that going for me.

It's ridiculous how backed up they are. As a "for revenue" pilot, Dr. Bruce was able to get my renewal approved over the phone and I was able to walk out with certificate in hand. It then took 5 months to get the actual letter in hand!

Yeah, we non revenue pilots have to wait our turn in the queue.

At least it's an asphalt runway and thus Kimberly wouldn't be able to aerate it with her spike heels as she runs out to catch a ride!

Well, if those were your worst, you are doing pretty good. They were definitely nothing to be ashamed of.

IMG_1999.JPG Climb out was a little rough- but climbing at over 1000fpm at 4000' was an eye opener - tie those birds down!

I think I have a good pic of Bryan and john's airplanes on the Nikon. But it is dinner time.

For now- this is all I got.

Anyone else catch this?

Just an observation. :)

Looks like y’all are having a great time. I see we are missing a popup canopy!

I got a call Friday morning from Gaston’s wondering if I’d be showing up... I had to remind them that I canceled my hold on cabin 6 back in July! Apparently it didn’t actually get removed from the books. So, it may be available if anyone needs a room near the flightline!

did y'all get that cold front last night? Might make southerly destinations a little speedier today

We got it the cold front. We're currently trapped like rats cuz we weren't smart (or sober) enough to reposition out planes to Baxter County...

The field is sandy and dries quickly (sand is also pretty soft and cushions "line over" impacts well!).

The exception is that low spot at the west end between the parking area and main lobby...if they still haven't fixed it. By noon or early afternoon you should be good to go, especially with the forecast winds helping with the drying process.

I don't think they've had any significant rain in that area for quite a while either...that should also help.

That was hurtful to the Gruman Owners

We're home. I should have some good aviation video to upload a bit later.
