Thoughts on landing C182 heavy

IMO they're not.

Do the W/B. With full fuel and 4 people in a newer Skylane like @JustinD has it is very easy to land above max landing weight.

My 182 just has a max ramp and t/o weight and doesn't have a max landing weight. W/B wise I would not be able to takeoff legal with full fuel (88 gal usable) and 4 standard adults. 88 gal is over 6 hours fuel so like Justin said its easier to keep the tanks 1/2-3/4 full so you can have the versatility the 182 is designed for.

W&B should be done for any airplane. Adjust your load as needed. Sorry I don't see the problem. But I respect your thoughts and opinions, just don't agree.

I get what you are saying, that it actually is not a negative but gives it more versatility. To that end I definitely agree with you!

And don't lie, you don't respect me- hehe :D

Are you ****ing kidding me? That's crazy talk. 182s aren't difficult to land under any loading configuration, or number of folks on board.

As @neilw2 said I was talking about legal. I can land it no problem regardless of if I land at max landing at 2950 or anything below that.

My 182 has a useful load of 1077.7 lbs. but my max landing weight is 150lbs less than max takeoff. So with 4 170lb folks like myself and some bags it’s very very easy to find yourself in a situation where you can takeoff but not Land if you aren’t smart about how much fuel you have in the airplane to begin your flight.

I never said it’s difficult to do so, just you can easily find yourself in said position if you aren’t cognoscent of your aircraft and it’s weights etc

Think I misunderstood your post. I thought you were saying a 182 at max landing was difficult.
