Hi

2 pilots looking for a couple more pilots to partner up to purchase a plane together. We am interested in buying into a DA40, Cirrus sr22 . Or any solid plane that might work for our mission. Currently out of KSSF. Please let me know.

Maybe check into a club too Carlos?
There is a club at Stinson think 10 members only. Think they just got the 10th member so filled up and maybe no room for me . Its a 172 160 hp.. 105 knots. Seem like great folks but Was looking for bit more plane. Still may consider it.

Ask them if there any other clubs. San Antonio big city, gotta be more around.

No.. that's all I found. There a Cirrus partnership at borne and club at borne stage airport.. but it's not a real club. Just a rental of any plane in thier fleet at regular hour rent charge.

Yeah, San Antonio is not a great area for GA unless you can swing sole ownership, with storage costs mind you. Accessibility/affordability (surprise surprise) of hangars is a big problem, like most metros. Additionally, most people don't like living in the South Side because of the usual white flight reasons, so the airport location is less convenient than say Boerne or New Braunfels. Not trying to offend anybody, but the demographics of San Antonio when compared to metros like Houston or DFW, support the reality of zero interest in expanding the GA footprint inside 1610, let alone 410.

Still, I think unless there's a rock you haven't turned at SSF hiding some partnership (there's a fair amount airplanes tied down at SSF), your best bet is gonna be a Cirrus rental of some sort all the way up at Boerne. There's really not much in San Antonio ime. Most acquaintances/ex-coworkers I know with the finances to swing airplane ownership and San Antonio domicile, are all hiding in the private airparks. Good luck to ya. I sincerely hope you don't exit the avocation due to this very prevalent problem.

I understand. Actually hangers at SSF are lowest in town. But I enjoy the Airport easier to coast. Will have to wait and see I guess.

SSF is not far from where I live. I live in Alamo heights so only a 18 min drive from home. I work at Southwest general which is only 10 min away. So very convenient. So hoping to find similar folks I guess.

I can pull sole ownership just wanted partnership to help keep the plane running and never hurts to help with cost.

Kind of a long shot, but have you inquired in KSAT? I know it's highly unlikely since it's mostly turbine players that hangar over there, but I've seen some permanent party types in the tie down at Landmark (now Signature North), might be worth asking the question.

Ya didn't think of that. I passed by there just to visit the Cirrus school there for fun.. they did have few slots available for tie downs last time I was there..

That's what we found.

Well sorry to say we would have been the right folks because we're just 30 mins south of Stinson but we have no mission any more, no where to fly to. I did run it by Mark though. But it won't work for us right now. Good luck!

I Understand. Thanks though. Our mission would be to T82, Port A( when gets rebuilt), big bend, canyons in Amarillo, Sedona, AZ, Waco, etc

Carlos, pm me what your looking for. I’m out near La Vernia and might be willing to partner on a plane. I’m trying to deciding between a boat, helicopter, plane or even a gyrocopter.

I owned a Sr20 before, great plane.

If I decide on another plane, I will need 6 seats and A/C. So that ups the purchase price or puts me in a Toga.

Carlos I am curious did you every figure this out or get a partnership up and going? I am currently looking for partners for my P35 Bonanza or possibly partners to purchase a SR22. Just wanted to see what kind of luck you had with your search or if by chance you are still looking. I am out of KPEZ at the moment about 30 mins south of SSF.

Friends don't let friend necro post.

At any rate, I'll help you out. The dude you're replying to 3 years late, got an SR-22 for like a hot second back then, then jumped into a partnership on a turbo prop (Meridian or Propjet conversion, can't remember which) with a couple airline retirees.
