I'm in Destin FL this week so I went to see the museum. Very cool and free as it's a military museum. Here's a few pics. I was curious if maybe Sheperd flew this particular F-100 in pic number 3? Believe he mentioned flying 100s.

Ate at McGuires and wondered into the gift shop after eating corn beef and cabbage, and a few porters. Bought a cool kooozie.

Captured MIG-21. I used to fly those with the Aggressors in Nellis in the late 70s. Kicked the azz out the F-15s every time! ;)

YOU flew it?! Rightttttt....:rofl:
But yes it was one of many Migs the USAF had had a secret base in NV in the Red Eagle squadron. Most of the sticks that flew the Migs had an Agressor background. They were separate from the Agressor squadrons though, and they weren't at Nellis.

I know. We weren't at Nellis. We were at Tonopah. I flew aggressors F-5E (64th) out of Nellis.

An alter-ego that had endless exaggerated (yet believeable) stories, who nearly touched about every edge of aviation during his so-called career. People called BS (me included) and he packed his bags. Interesting to read though. :)

Nah no military plane looks weird. That particular plane along with a few others in the pics F-15,F-4 etc) were actually on the flight line and flying when I was a controller there. Guess I'll be going on static display too lol.

I worked on the F-111 for 6 years. It looks weird without the gear door/speed brake :)
