Lets hear your great stories of airports in AZ

Marble Canyon but truth be told, its been a few years since we were there and the runway wasn't that great back then

Havasu is a cool flight...although I can't seem to get myself motivated enough to wake up at the crack of dawn and fly during this heat.

Flagstaff. Wiseman Aviation runs the FBO which is the nicest that I've ever been to. The fireplace is going in the winter and they always have coffee, tea, and water plus a couple of cookie choices. The bathroom has real towels to dry your grubby paws. And you can pet the cat, I still don't know what he does on his day off. My buddy Marc might just be the one who clears you to land and take off again.

Kearny is a fun airport to fly into. It's about a 1/2 mile walk to the restaurant. The restaurant at Ajo is a hoot to go to, just don't go there with a large group without advanc notice or the staff there might not be able to handle the pressure.

What's the highest DA you have taken off from at Flag? Just curious

Well, not really because you start out at 7014' and its always cooler than down in the valley. Just double check your chart numbers and your weight and balance. I have to carry more fuel than you do to fly home.

We go there every now and then, runway is even worse now with a couple of very deep potholes.

9300 on an avg day in early Aug. You can see the automated "warning" through the windows before we take off, about 8 seconds into this video.

Winslow used to have a great Mexican restaurant on the field. Self service fuel is hidden around back.

How much horsepower does your plane have?

Page - go to Antelope canyon / horseshoe bend

Payson - great on-field camping.

Monument Valley - private airport, but you can land there.

Meteor Crater - fly over and take a look.

Sedona....

Take a trip into Utah and go to CNY.

They also have a courtesy van at Kearney if you don't want to walk. And show my site at the cafe (West End Cafe) and they will give you a discount. FYI

Just flew into Marble Canyon for lunch in October in our Archer....the runway was OK, but at 35’ wide (I think), I had to go off the edge to turn around for the taxiback. Truly a memorable experience landing there!
