Cessna 207 down Kenai Peninsula AK

1000 feet and one mile is good flying weather there. I am wondering if following the shore line would have been better.

Flying between two trees and taking the wings off dissipated a lot of that energy.

if I had the luxury of choosing a plane to crash, I'd choose the 207.

Yeah, the 207 can be slowed down a lot before impact. Plus that nose baggage will compress and take a lot of energy out of the crash.

Then again, another good sled is gone.

That accident was near Hope and happened two weeks ago. I think it was on the 3rd? The weather that day was crap, especially in the rising terrain flanking Turnagain Arm and the upper Cook Inlet. I remember the day because the clouds were in the trees all day the 2nd much of the day on the 3rd until late evening. I got home in the mid day on the 3rd under a ceiling that varied between 400' and 700' and got a special. Not a fun day to fly.
