Second weekend in October as usual! Flight line consensus, so you can make your reservations as you depart the 2016 event.

Very much vacancy during your fly-in, or do you all book it solid?

There were multiple events at a Gaston's this weekend. I think the place was booked solid

As John said it was initially booked solid this year, but we had a few cancellations and those rooms opened back up. One example was Ted being switched to a cabin that was available all three days since he showed up a day early (originally he had to move after his first night).

Yes, Ted's Luck was a "weather dependent" but it happens.

My estimate is that if you make your reservations more than 2 months out you'll be okay. It seems like the "I checked and they're sold out" comments in this year's thread started about six weeks out but I'm too lazy to go back and look.

My problem is that I don't know when I'm free a week ahead, let alone a year.

Maybe next year...

Many people, like me, reserve a two BR cabin and the second BR is open and available for procrastinators...or those whose work schedule don't allow long term planning. Kent and Kelsey crashed in my second BR this year. The downside is that the second BR has two twin beds...but hey...they're beds!

It was good enough for Lucy and Ricky Ricardo.

Nice that they are TWO twin beds versus one double or queen. Just have to put up with some snoring!

They have a number of different room configurations. If you call they can run you through the details. When I went in 2009 I shared a room with Tony/Leah and AdamB. The room had two double beds, I slept on the floor with a sleeping bag.

Many don't like booking ahead because they have a cancellation policy that's not particularly friendly. I can understand why - there's not exactly a lot of demand for places to sleep in Lakeview Arkansas. The problem is that it does fill up quickly, so you generally need to book well in advance, especially if you have a particular cabin you want. Since the cabins span just about the full length of the runway (3300 ft) that can make for a long walk back to your cabin if you're at the far end.

Thinking about trying to make it this year. How many planes typically make it in? Any twin's?

I know of at least a couple of guys who may have new planes to show off this year!
I'm curious to see how well Bryan flies airplanes when he isn't lugging a rocket behind the back seat.

It's much more scary this way.
and I'm familiar with your pre-takeoff and post take off flows.... Now you need to remember, that overhead handle is the canopy latch... not the SYLWA* handle.

The best part of owning a Grumman. AC, we don't need no stinking AC.

Just make sure you close it before flying through a cloud or you may get your face washed!

I don't even know what I would do if I got clouds in my eyes. Declare and fly by feel I guess

Teresa and I can't make it this year: we just released our reservation on primo cabin 6 up by the pool (two bedrooms, one a king and the other two twins, and a kitchen).

Snag it quick if you want it! We usually hosted some of the meals there!

We may do a day trip up and/or crash on a couch overnight if the schedule allows.

If you day trip, I might want to ride along.

Kim and I can't make it either...so we freed up Cabin # 2 if anyone wants to grab it.

...guess who has a business commitment which cannot be set aside for that weekend?

:-(

This totally sucks. But I hadn't booked a cabin yet so Silver Lining I guess

Conflict resolved. I'm coming.
