Was reading this morning about the landslide in CA and found myself eventually more interested in trying to guess the plane wing in the article

I want to say it looks like a Bonanza wing, however the boots the and very small stall strip tell me it isn't a Bo? Also can't figure out if that little mark near the wing tip is a fence or part of a fuel cap

Incidentally, I was surprised to see a low wing in the photo, usually these types of photos, at least around here, are taken by high wing CAP planes and more over their photographers are very careful not to get any part of the plane in the shot

So I had the manufacturer right at least! :D

Wonder if that is a gov plane or a private plane just happened to snap the picture. That's a lot of money to burn in a turboprop just to get that not-so-great picture. CAP would have been a fraction of the costs and given some volunteers good flying time

Perhaps the photo wasn't from a public use mission to document the slide, but was from a private pilot who submitted the pic.

^that's kind of what I am assuming. But I wouldn't expect to see a King Air that low to the ground off the coast there..

Are we sure it's a King Air? The wing does seem very "beechcraft"

The photo credit leads back to a local construction company that shows up with a PA-32R and PA-46R.

It is a Beech, probably for sure. Looks King Airish, but the angle of the camera seems high to be from the cabin of a KA.

Yeah, I was going to say that it looked to me like something from a straight wing Citation, but the angle is way too high I think.

^I agree with the others though, the angle doesn't seem correct, seems too high for many GA planes actually

I'll go with the PA-46 ... the outboard location of the fuel filler suggests a turbine.

Even the piston Malibu wings have the filler out there. The deice boots, landing light location and the filler neck look very Malibu to me.
