Monkey to Oshkosh and Beyond!

"You'll soar over the Fly Over States, but pause for the Rocky Mountains!"

So, it's been a while. Sorry. Things have been incredibly busy in The Monkey world.

Couple weeks ago we flew up to Laconia, NH. Was a beautiful flight, except for the whole part where Mother Nature was trying to kill us via turbulence and gusty winds that were not on the forecast. But the good news is that we learned we can still make rockstar-worthy landings in winds gusting to 28, and that we made some new friends from the WWE...

Last week was especially exhausting, as The Monkey and I had to work a very long day on Monday supporting public safety efforts for the Boston Marathon...

He did a pretty good job with that, but only because I wouldn't let him touch anything. The hardest part was keeping him away from all of the media. Especially the blonde.

This week we are down in Knoxville, TN for a conference. On our connection in Newark this morning, we were 30 in line for departure. THIRTY. The hell.

Anyway, we made it here. Been up since 3:30 and I'm exhausted.

My sis took us out to a little restaurant near downtown this afternoon... one that @eman1200 would never be interested in...

I was disappointed that he had them hold the bread on the bbq sandwich and that he added slaw... gag... but then I remembered that he's from @Sac Arrow 's world... guess that's just how things roll there.

Plans going forward -
Weather permitting, we'll be flying to Martha's Vineyard this weekend. Vermont and a 99s meething the following weekend. Then Norway.

Also, June 4th. I won't tell you guys what's going to happen in the Monkey's world on June 4th, but he can't be passed along to the next pilot until after that day. Trust me when I say, it'll be good. :)

That said, AFTER that day, someone needs to take this damn Monkey!!!! He's been with me too long and, despite the fun, it's about time for him to move on. Anyone going to be even remotely in my area in June, please let me know.

You apparently have him under control... No wild parties, drugs or alcohol reports....

Yeah, don't be so sure about that. I've been having some suspicions about things. Strong suspicions.

I plan to set up a night cam sometime later this week to see what's really been going on.

Standby.

, It won't be the first time he went off-grid with his shenanigans... Be careful with the night cam... You might not want to know what he's been up to....

Safe travels lil fella. The Monkey is taking caj overseas. I do believe longroad has already boarded up his windows and is heading for his panic room for the next coupl'a weeks. Have fun y'all!

We got in yesterday, drank a bunch of REALLY expensive beers and caught up on sleep. Off to the Viking Museum today and then a train to Flam tomorrow.

Here's hoping the monkey doesn't land us in a Norwegian jail. Thanks to some drug-filled tins @SixPapaCharlie sent him a while back, he almost got us in trouble with customs..
:/

We are back, broke and jetlagged as fluck.

Here are a few pics of the Monkey on his grand adventure to Norway.

Hanging out in the hotel window, downtown Oslo. There was a prostitute doing "her" thing across the street and I kept telling him that she wasn't really a she... but he didn't seem to care.

Getting drunk on $12 beers in Flam...

And by drunk, I mean lightly buzzed because we couldn't afford to get drunk.

Terrible views everywhere we went.

Gawd, it was ugly there.

Checking out the Oslo control tower -

One more special thing planned for him this Sunday, then he's free to move on.

Totally Broke,
Cajun and the Monkey

Pictures or it didn't happen :)

Sounds like all of you are having a blast

Hmmm, hard to tell from the picture, but I'll go with what you're seeing.

You're strapping him to a missile bound for North Korea? (note that I said "strapping him to", not a "strap on", er, never mind.)

I had read that Iceland was really expensive, but had hoped that Norway would have been better priced. I can say that the Czech Republic is reasonable as long as you get away from the touristy areas. The Budvar beer is fantastic. Had three before the National Museum Tour... can't remember if I made it to the museum or not...

Oh, and the folks that walk the street there are really women, unless you want different, and that's there too. Not that I would know anything about that.

Monkey got to meet Harrison Ford today -

Unfortunately, while I got to meet and chat with him a couple times... and I got some pics with him, as well as his sweet signature in my logbook -

the Monkey did not get a personal photo with Harrison.

I think my Bucket List is complete now. Just need to watch my kids grow up and I'm pretty much good.

I just saw on Facebook, AOPA, and BBC News: Harrison Ford posted "Can't believe how fortunate I am! Got to meet Cajun Flyer and The Monkey today. Even though The Monkey wouldn't take a personal photo with me, I think my career as a Pilot is complete now."

I knew it meant as much to him as it did to me!!!

Cool. The Monkey is getting mainstream exposure. I smell a movie deal. I gotta go back over my posts and see if anything thing needs "cleanin up."

if I remember, you had a post deleted that was a pic of the monkey with yoda. which, we all know is highly offensive. I mean........offensive, that is!

Well, I finally said goodbye to The Monkey. :(

We had a lot of fun together, but he was ready to move on to the next adventure (...and I think to get back to his coke habit). After enjoying a delicious pancake and bacon breakfast at the Warbirds cafe and a long goodbye...

...he went back to @G-Man, who flies around the country far more than I do and promises to find him some new places and thrills.

Safe travels, @The Monkey! You will be missed

Yes, I have The Monkey!

Here is the handoff from CajunFlyer. He seems in good health and no more harmed than when he left. I've got plans for him involving too much airline travel and hopefully lots of GA stuff. Possible handoff destinations include the Reno Air Races or Hood River, OR, the week before.

Who wants to be The Monkey's Keeper next?

The Monkey is, indeed, quite petite.
Cajun Flyer is a giant among aviators!
(I am standing really close to the camera.)

I did show up, late, and forgot to ask after the monkey in any case. :-(

I did give away about 20 Plane Perfect t-shirts to various nefarious people though.

I was there til pretty late, but was really confused about who was who from POA. And may have imbibed just a wee bit too much ;)

I now have 173 total monkey pics and almost 50 from cajun, if you can count that last one where it looks like she's smoking a little monkey joint.

Thank you for mine! Plenty of people asked what I was using to clean the plane every morning, I reped well for you!
