It's been a little bit over a year since we've raised money to help support the operations of the site. Since the PoA Supporter badges have disappeared from profiles at this point, we thought it would be a good time to open things up again.

Some background: PoA is a nonprofit organization. Not a 501(c)3, but rather a state registered nonprofit. Nobody on the MC takes money for their work on this site. And I receive no compensation for my work on the infrastructure.

It costs us around $100/mo for the AWS resources necessary to keep the site running and backed up.

The last time we opened up the site for donations, we only collected enough to fund us for a year. That round lasted us roughly 14 months.

This time we'd like to raise about two years worth of operating expenses. In addition, we need to raise enough to fund the renewal of the core software and a couple of other software projects that we'd like to take on in the coming months.

If you'd like to sport a fancy PoA Supporter badge like mine, we would very much appreciate a donation.

Thanks!

Jason (on behalf of the PoA Management Council)

I'm in!

How 'bout y'all?

How much for Spike's vintage PoA ballcap?

Seriously though... make some logo wear available. I'd love to have a few shirts and a hat with the current logo. And there are sites out there where we can order as we need/want, making Jason's burden to handle inventory a non thing. Profits from short sales go to purchase more peanuts for the server squirrels.

PS. Still interested in buying Spike's hat. @SCCutler

It's burnt orange, Mike.

But, for a big enough donation, I might give it away.
Orange schmorange... you do recall the story about the dimples on the underside of my Aggie Ring, dontcha?

We had a store at one time, but it was selling stuff at pretty much cost. Need to reboot the merchandise program with the new logo.

I'll hunt for the hat...

@JCranford, are you still doing the silkscreen and embroidery biz? Or was that set aside for the new sport fishing equipment biz?

It largely been set aside, although we still do the occasional 'special project'. POA might qualify as a 'special' project.

Done.

At the top tier we're basically paying for one month. Which month is mine? ;)

Don't worry about selling apparel. If you really want some operating funds, offer the option of paying a fine to end a ban.

I haven't been around much since last year, but have been lurking a little of late. I do appreciate the help I have received here in the past and am happy to give back.

I'm in. Can't wait for my tote bag and hand-crank radio!

I just got my official POA hat ... that was quick!

Thank you so much to those who have given so far! We're almost halfway to our goal of funding two full years of operation.

Suggestion/Question: Can we multi-donate? Or can you add a fill-in the amount option?

I would have given more if the option existed.

I would gladly support poa right now so you can keep the site up during my next ban but we just gave a big check to my Shriners club to help pay for families to travel to whichever Shriners hospital their child has to go. I believe that would take precedence.

Sounds like you have everything under control!

Thank you to those that have given! Getting closer...

Now I've got a fiscal quarter.. :)

Is tha the one with Bryan Turner's face on it? I need one to round the collection with R&W, Ron Levy, PFleming, the Why Not Minot guy, Nomex,...

I'll add my thanks to all who have donated. @jason does a great job keeping this site running!
