[R[NA]ant] The world is changing and I aint. [/R[/NA]t]

Yikes I'm 22 and agree with everything @SixPapaCharlie said in the first post... Maybe I'm old.
I have a whole closet full of clothes that are older than you; and they still fit. The holes probably help with that.
I also have a couple of bottles of Scotch older than you, which proves that old ain't always bad.

Find a 12 year old in the neighborhood to fix your ipad screen buy the parts online its almost as easy as flying a Cirrus.

My iPad shattered and I wanted to get it fixed.
Guess where you gotta go when your iPad breaks. That's right, the Apple store. I called several places and ended up having to go to the Apple store.

There's a 17 year old kid at the local shopping mall kiosk that fixes these things. I had him replace glass and digitizers. No Apple store for me. Too far and too pretentious.

I agree with everything you said. I like your Seinfeld\Carlin hybrid comedy. You need your own grumpy middle aged man show. I am actually enjoying flying more without my Igidgets and learning to use my VOR's and dead reckoning.

I don't know Bryan or his Cirrus but we should both survive as long as he doesn't cut me off in the pattern cuz my Champ is too slow.

I'm trying to think of a way to unnecessarily hijack this thread just for fun. because I'm bored. and looking for an excuse not to do work. so let's see........."where's everybody flying this weekend?'....nah, someone did that already....."french toast anyone?"...nah, someone learn't there lesson there......"AoA"......meh............"boobs".....eh I'll leave that to mscard............shoot, I need some help here fellas.........

In-N-Out tastes like Burger King? Maybe you lost your tastebuds at 40. There's a line at every In-N-Out for a reason, I never see a line at BK.

I thought once I got a Bonanza signoff, that pretty much put an end to all other checkouts. I mean, what's the point?
I have a friend starting a seaplane instructing business out of Lake Norman. He also does aerobatic and tailwheel. You could go on a binge and get all 3.

out of 14A? they recently put up a gate to get into the place. not hard to get past it, but there goes the 'quiet, local' airport feel to the place. seaplane does sound fun. is he up and running yet? I may take you up on that, especially with a Grum.man discount.

It will be docked over at Long Island Airpark. He keeps his Super Decathlon at 14A. Plane is ready, they are re-painting the floats right now. I would say he will be up in a month or two. 115 hp Champ.

Even his rant about PBR? It ain't bad, sorta a after cutting the grass and all sweaty beer. Man I was on a layover once in Harrisburg and this joint had Yuenling for a buck a bottle. THAT was a good night, dolla beer, pizza, and a couple hot flight attendants. Ah yes, some layovers better than others, but every once in awhile....
But, I do enjoy darker beers too now, like Fat Tire, but where's the love for my PBRs man?

I tried In-n-Out when I was in SF. It was good, but no better than Five Guys. Fries were good but I think Five Guys are better. What I like is a good local joint burger, get away from these ****ing chain burger factories.

excuse me, but we're in the middle of a hijacking here? thank u very much.

Whatya hijacking, a Bo? What'd you like mostest about the Bo? I love 'em myself. Bonanza, not boobs, I mean, well, I love boobs too...time for coffee girl!

Favorite Coffee Cup.jpg

That's it eman, coffee, let's do coffee, no that's not her name, but...

I don't see no squawk code......

actually, I like that.........anytime you're hijacking a thread you SHOULD put 7500 first. that way people know ur hijacking and u don't have to apologize for it. "I'm sorry for hijacking your thread" becomes "7500".

I go to school in Fort Collins CO... aka the home of New Belgium and a whole host of other famous microbreweries. PBR is a crime here ;)

See, I'm kinda old, and when I started drinking beer in grade school, there wasn't all these selections of exotic beers. It was all most just a handful, no light beers at all. So, sure I drink PBR sorta as a daily beer, but weekends or when company comes over, especially my son-in-law, we get into the "exotic" shet. No crime in these here parts to drink PBRs. Hell, I used to drink Schmidt's when I was in HS in New Joisey.

Different situations require different beers. In the winter, I'm all about good, heavier beer. Le Fin due Monde, Founders Porter, various stouts, and some of the hoppier IPA's make up my winter stash for cold weather drinking. But when it's hot it's lighter IPAs at the most, and out on the boat in humid 95* temps, its PRB and BLL all the way. When it's hot, I want cold and refreshing, not heavy.

.What'd you like mostest... about the Bo? I love 'em myself....

PROs
  • serious ramp appeal - it looks and feels like a solid airplane. then again, you should see some of the rentals I'm used to, but really, it's a great looking airplane, well built.
  • easy in/out and roomy - even with the front seat pushed back a bit there is still plenty of legroom for backseat passengers. solid 4-place.
  • climb rate - sheesh, this plane couldn't wait to jump off the runway. granted it was like 40 degrees out the day I flew it, but still the rate was incredible.
  • fast - yeah, it's fast.
  • easy as f oo k to land - of course I haven't had much of a chance to goober up a landing, but this thing takes minor control inputs and working it down with the vernier controls was almost too easy.
  • everything 'worked' - again, might be due to what I'm used to flying, but everything worked. and with slaved HSI I wasn't spending time adjusting a DG which to me is annoying.
lots of others, these are just some

CONs
  • friggin expensive - yes, I can find something ancient but for the most part a decent Bo is out of my range
  • lots of buttons and gauges and thingies hidden behind the yoke bar - I know you'd get used to where things are, but for a first timer, things get hidden behind this bar
  • um, not too much else

LOL pretty much agree with your take, especially the "everything works" part. I flew one (V tail) for a electrical contractor, and an A36 for a couple Docs, and a few others. I think the difference is THEY can afford to keep 'em working. Yeah the local rentals here (152-72,PA140) have definitely seen better days.

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is rapidly fadin’
And the first one now will later be last
Rage, rage for these times are a-changin'.....

(with apologies to Bob Dylan and Dylan Thomas)

Bob just called and he's ****ed! Hey you said you crewed for a NASCAR team, who if I may ask. I did some flying for Bill from Dawsonville back in '98.

Ha ha. It does my heart good to see the younger folks (40 ish) complaining about all the newfangled stuff :). One advantage to getting older is you can become a cranky old man :)!
