Anyone going from Utah/Idaho/Colorado that has room for an extra butt?

OK Folks...
90 Days out, and for the first time in years, I have gotten approved for the ENTIRE TIME I asked for!
Which means that even if I only go to SNF for a couple of days, I can play around Florida for the whole week!

Who else is going????

I'm going. Is the NOTAM available yet? I've never flown in before...

I'm planning on it. Would have liked to have seen the Patrouille de France but I don't think I'll be there on the 4th. Always good to see the Blues perform though. Then again, I'm really looking forward to seeing the displays on the ground vs the air anyway.

I am thinking about going. No real plans yet.

I was hoping to be in Sebring next week for the Sport Aviation Expo but doesn't look like I will make it.

Good news.. I called sun and fun the other day and was told the french team will perform on the 4th ! I am also looking forward to it..

Doing both Sebring and sun n fun, wouldn't miss either one

I might be bringing a PC-12 in and working the first few days of the show. I'll find out soon.

I plan to go for at least a couple days. Always looking for excuse to fly my 414 somewhere.

I'll be at Sun n Fun as usual, but giving Sebring a miss this year, done the last 3 years but came away last year feeling disappointed

Went to Sebring today. Seemed like almost nobody there! Guessing less than 1000 people and that might be way over stretching it. Show was nice though. Very foggy until maybe 10.

Is it easy to get in an out of KLAL during the week, or is it worth flying into a nearby airport and driving in?

Getting in and out is easy, just follow the NOTAM! It's not too bad! I've flown in and out of Sun-N-Fun since 2010, great and fun experience every time. For me, half the fun is the flying right into it part!

It's fairly simple to fly in. Here's a video I made flying my plane in to Sun-N-Fun in 2013, with all ATC audio. Fast forward to 10:50 for the entire Sun-N-Fun lake Parker arrival procedure with the ATC audio. You'll see while busy, it's straight forward and fun. You'll note we don't talk to ATC in lakeland, even to read back the landing clearance. The Notam specifies not to talk back to them

I've flown in, which isn't difficult, but fun fun fun! Also flew in and stayed at a nearby town maybe 20-30 minutes away. Less crowds, better hotel rates. etc. Just watch out for the small town cops.

Planning on it mid-week. Might even be volunteering at the AOPA Pilot Protection Services booth.

It's confirmed. I will be bringing in the PC-12 demo plane on Monday and working the Pilatus booth until midday on Thursday. Stop by and say Hi.

I'll be there on Wednesday. I will make sure to stop by and say Hi.

Schedule set: Arriving Wed., leaving Saturday. Any arrangements for a meet-up, yet?

I will be there all week. I volunteer at the Sun N Fun Radio station, interviewing pilots, manufacturers, vendors, spectators, whatever I think would be interesting!

The radio station is just east of the Sunset Grill with the wood deck. Come say hi!

Cool!

Hope to see you in Florida as I will be in building A selling my Vintage Air Maps, classy Cub shirts, and talking about flying Cubs to Oshkosh for the 80th

Will be there Wednesday to Saturday camping. Look for the Grumman!

Update. If anyone feels like dropping by, I'll be working the AOPA PPS booth 10-1 Thursday.

Unfortunately I'm stuck having to work this year. I flew down last year and camped by my plane Thursday thru Sunday. I had a blast and was able to meet up with a few PoA members. I hope all of you have a great time. Wish I could be there too.

Thanks,

Dave
